SPAIN...

In Front, Calamari Stew with Saffron Rice; In Back, Taste of Spain. Wkrider had these and they were very good.

CHINA...

Chicken Sha Cha. Wkrider had this and it was good.

INDIA...

Curried Butternut Squash Soup with Paratha Bread. Buttercup really liked this dish.

ARGENTINA...

In Front, Grilled Beef with Chimchurri Sauce; In Back, Spicy Beef Empanada. Wkrider liked these as well. (That is Wkrider in the pic)

Here are some more pics from the Food and Wine Festival.

FRANCE...

Quiche Au Fromage De Chevre and Sparkling Pomegranate Kir. Buttercup thought both were very good individually but not together. That is Buttercup in the pic.

MEXICO...

Quesadilla Con Chorizo. Wkrider liked but it was plain.

Chillaqiles. Wkrider liked.

CHAMPAGNE...
Duo of Chocolates and Rose Imperial. Buttercup = super yum!

HOPS & BARLEY MARKET...

New England Crab Cake with Barley Lentil Salad. Buttercup loved.

Wkrider had the Cherry Wheat Beer from this stand and liked but reminded of cough syrup. Sorry no picture.

SOUTH AFRICA...

Spice Cake with Marinated Fruit. Buttercup liked the cake and fruit but not together. Didn't eat the lovebugs!!

GERMANY...

Debrizinger Sausage with Sauerkraut in a Pretzel and a Becks. Wkrider had and enjoyed.

Apple Struedel and Spatlese Riesling. Wkrider and Buttercup had and enjoyed.

CANADA...

Maple Glazed Salmon with Roasted Corn and Arugala (half eaten in pic). Wkrider's first booth and he liked it.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...

Pistelon De Platanos Amarillo. One of Buttercup's favorites.

GREECE...

Greek Salad and Spanakopita. Buttercup's other favorite.

This is the last of the pics that we have to post regarding the food and the F & W Festival.

NEW ZEALAND...

Marinated Seafood Salad. Wkrider really liked this.

AUSTRALIA...

Shrimp on the Barbi. Wkrider and this and liked but thought it was somewhat plain. Buttercup enjoyed the wine sampler walkabout.

TURKEY...

Meze. Buttercup enjoyed this.

OKLAHOMA...

Three Sister's Soup. Buttercup liked this dish.

Seared Buffalo with Scalloped Wild Onions. Wkrider had this and like it.

Rose Rock Diner, Oklahoma.

Pecan Pie. Wkrider and buttercup liked this pie.

To sum up, our opinions as first timers, we enjoyed almost everything we tried except the Raspberry Wine from Poland. We were told to take $5's and $1's but we feel it would have been better to have $5's and $10's. To us the crowds for opening weekend were not bad. We were able to taste what we wanted without any long waits. We did not try any special events and the weather was pleasant. Windy and a little rain but it kept the heat away. Will answer any questions posted that we can. Hope all that go have a great time and like what they eat.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post these pics, I am so excited to go in 11 days and sample all the yummy foods. I am super excited to try the escargot in France, never had it before but it sounds so good!

Ok, I do have a few questions.
1. With the marinated seafood salad, there is squid in it. Is this something that is obvious to see/taste? I love the shrimp and scallops but don't care for squid and would want to take it out...or if it isn't a noticable taste I might try it.

2. Why didn't you care for the raspberry wine from Polond? I was looking forward to that along with the pomegranate kir.

3. Speaking of the kir, why did you enjoy it so much??

1. I think it had squid but it wasn't noticeable. It was all mixed together.
2. The raspberry wine was too sweet, almost syrupy, kinda like Japanese plum wine. I don't like that either.
3. The Kir was so refreshing and I love bubbly!

My FH wants to know if you saw how big the cheddar cheese soup at the Canada booth is. He wants to try it so badly but we don't want to give up our CR reservation (it's where we got engaged and this is our honeymoon!) for Le Cellier.
