Next year is the first time my family & I will be in DW when the Food and Wine Festival is going on. Being that I love food....and wine...I'm very excited! Does anyone have any pointers as to where the best areas are to check out? From what I understand there are exhibits in various places. I'm not sure what seems worth checking out.

Thanks for your input.

Your familiar with drinking around the world? This is eating and drinking around the world. In addition to the normal food venues there are kiosks throughout the World Showcase from many countries not already represented that you can sample the bill of fare. We went for the first time this past October and found it easy to navigate. Just stroll around the World Showcase and you'l easily find something to sample without even trying. Some of the unofficial Disney sites have pictures posted from this year, including menus. http://allears.net/tp/ep/foodwine.htm We did not participate in any of the seminars. We were too busy enjoying the culinary delights.

Go to the Welcome Center which is by Universe of Energy bldg. where Wonders of Life used to be. This is where you can purchase merchandise, the themed gift cards(we LOVED these), and where the events take place. If you sign up for any tastings/demonstrations, they are held there. It's all wonderful. :goodvibes

The Food and Wine Festival is one of our favorite WDW events. We enjoy going to all the different booths and sampling the food and beverages. There are a lot of daily seminars, that use to be free but are becoming more of a fee now. There is the Party for the Senses, held every Saturnight.....A must do. There are a lot of special seminars with various chiefs.

I would go to allears.net and view their articles for the Food & Wine Festival.

Totally forgot to mention these previously. Fill em' up. Swipe, eat, & drink! No muss, no fuss. Plus the handy wrist bracelet that keeps the card handy and ready for action! :thumbsup2

Pick up a guide at the festival center (or print off the one on disboards), have a look and see which of the kiosks sounds interesting, and then stroll around World Showcase just experiencing it.

Besides the gift card, what other form of payment? Can you charge to room key for example? Thanks

A fellow member DVC friend of mine booked us a champagne tasting through DVC 2 years ago that was VERY reasonable. Something like $8 per person. Has anyone heard if they will be offering anything similar this year? I've looked everywhere but so far its only food and wine pairings or dinners. Too pricery for me.

room key, cash, or credit card are also accepted,,,,very convenient

If you are on the dining plan I think snack credits work for at least some of the food tastings (or at least that used to be the case).

Party for the Senses is not being held on two Saturday nights this year

I've searched thru the boards and found limited info...

booked a bunch of things this year, but debating still on SWEET SUNDAYS...

should it be done? if so, deciding between David Guas on 11/6/11 or Geraldine on 10/30....

Has anyone seen either of their demos in years past?

Let me know....or feel free to direct me to other posts/threads..

Thanks so much!

They still have the wine seminars for $10/12. Moet will be there several dates this year. The seminars are held at the welcome center and many sell out, including typically the Moet seminars. You can book through their normal reservation number. There is a schedule of the seminars on the Epcot website.
