Hi all,

Never been to the Food & Wine Fest, but lucked into it this year. I love all kinds of ethnic foods and haven't met an adult beverage I didn't like.

My ? is: Can you make a dinner out of the the foods sold at the booths? I was just wondering if there are places to sit or whether you're forced to stand around or walk, eating as you go.

I've seen pictures of the booths and the wonderful menus, but I can't picture the area and whether there will be places assemble a little meal and chow down comfortably.

Thanks! Happy Travels!

You can definitely make a meal out of the Food and Wine festival. My husband and I usually start at Mexico and eat our way around the world. As we see food that interests us, we purchase it, look for a bench, and then eat it. We do this about a dozen times until we are stuffed :D It's definitely an eat as you go type thing. There are a few high tables throughout the World Showcase, but no chairs if I remember right.

yes, you can make a meal (or more) by grazing the booths - and there are those round tables you can stand beside to eat upon set up in some areas - plus there are benches where you can also sit

You will find a high standing table or a bench to enjoy your food. DH and I love to spend a lunch just grazing around the F&WF booths. You can definately make a meal out of the sampling from the booths. All those little bites, and wine/beer samplings add up! Enjoy!:hippie:

Not only can you make a meal, you can stuff yourself into a rolling ball, LOL!

We start at Canada (cheese soup!) and munch our way around. Some places we get entree type of stuff, other places we get snack stuff (hummus!) and other places we get dessert stuff (baklava!).

We usually just find a bench or railing to sit on or lean against, and eat from our laps.

What is this? Forgive my ignorance please, never gone at this time of year so never paid much attention. Is it extra$$ to "eat around the world"?? I will be there in 10/11-10/15.

Agree you can make a meal of it. Will not be cheap thought.

There will be lots of countries represented by little food kiosks around the WS in addition to the stuff that is already offered year round. Once the festival starts, you will see that the details of the offerings at the booths will come out on unofficial sites, like allearsnet. Here is a link to the offerings at the booths in 2006. http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ep/fw06/fw06f.htm

Happy Planning! Maggie

We have plans to make a lunch and a dinner meal out of the F&W booths. I have friends that have gone and I was warned that one day at Epcot would not be enough to really enjoy the F&W fest because you can make yourself miserable sampling all of the foods and adult beverages. With this thought in mind, I have the better part of 3 days out of 5 scheduled for Epcot. I can't wait! Maggie

This is what we did last year. We made it to Italy and just couldn't face another bite! :lmao:

What we do is buy one of just about everything and share it so we all get a taste. This year we've got 2 days planned for it. One day we'll start at Canada and one at Mexico.

Thanks for the Info, guys & gals! We will be there the first two days of the fest, so I will try to come back here and report upon our return.

I don't know why, but for some reason I pictured the festival in one spot- glad to hear it's spread out all over WS. I have dinner ressies (just in case), but I will probably cancel them the day before and nosh my way around the world! Woohoo!

The hard part will be sticking to one type of alcohol (maybe the red wine?) because mixing them always makes the next day horrible for me.

Thanks, again and happy travels!

In my october trip, out of the 9 days I'm there - 4 of which will be Epcot - plus one additional night there.
I think I enjoy the food and wine fest too much.

Our plan this year is to make a meal out of it. We have ressies for lunch at the LeCellier, and for dinner the plan is to graze the World Showcase. Actually, kind of looking forward to it.

This our first F & W Fest too. I was so happy to learn thast you can use your DDP snack credits at the booths too. Sure beats a bag of popcorn in my book.

3 of us are going for the F&W on Oct 19th and plan to spend the whole day eating around the world...:thumbsup2

So according to the other posts should we just share something from each country so we can experience more of the foods??? Are the portions big enough that we can each get enough to really enjoy it????:goodvibes

If it is something we really enjoy we can always get another one????

I am looking forward to the Florida booth with the shrimp and the mango wine!!!:cloud9:

I can not wait!!! :dance3:

Just remember, your body is usually happy enough if you start with high alcohol content beverages and drink down to lower content. However, if you start low and work up, your liver is gonna hate ya'! Also, some of the wines and adult beverages from other lands have higher alcohol content than what we are used to purchasing over here. Please be careful!

Don't forget in the heat to drink some water or non-caffeinated beverage inbetween rounds of alcohol too. I don't want any of my fellow DIS'ers becoming victims of dehydration! Maggie

Thanks for the tips, Maggie, those are good ones. But you know, it's not just my liver that hates me after overindulging- it's my whole dang body!

 :headache:

Can't throw 'em back like I used to, thus, the careful planning. Spacing drinks with water is a great idea.

Of course, I am looking forward to the food, especially Greece, China, & Japan!

Our last day is the 28th. We're planning already to cancel our ADR at Captain Jacks and saving our snack credits to eat around the world. It'll be the perfect way to end our trip.. We have Chef Mickeys for breakfast the day we leave.

I LOVE the Food & Wine Festival - and I don't drink! :) I generally don't eat at table service restaurants at that time, since I'd rather graze at the food booths. I usually spend a lot of afternoons and evenings at Epcot during F&W. Ok - I spend a lot of afternoons and evenings at Epcot any way - to hear Off Kilter! :teeth:

We only eat at F&W for our entire 5 day stay.

Sometimes we will visit another park in the early AM or skip out mid afternoon to early evening, but the rest of the time it's wandering and sampling.

Last year it took 4 days to try everything (we wanted to try - which is usually 90%+ of the offerings). Then we spend the last day or two going back for seconds (or thirds) or of favorites. Of course, we also do PFTS, so we stop eating at around 3PM that day to "save room" and we usually do one or two pairings and those will fill you up for a few hours

You can share the samples, but then it truly is just a taste.
