My wife and I will be at the Food and Wine Fest for the first time this October. Looking forward to all the tastings. I see they will be between $1-$4.50. Will these be cash only locations? Will I need to build up a nice wad of $1 bills to carry around with me or can we use credit cards or even possibly charge to room account? Thanks for any help.

I am pretty sure you can charge to the room or your credit card. I carried cash just because auditing all those $2 charges would have driven me insane. (I am an accountant, I like to audit!LOL!)

As of last year you could charge to your room card. Doubt this year will be any different. Can't WAIT til October!!

I'm digressing a little, but...last year we were at the F&WF and we loved it; however, you will be hard-pressed to find very many items that are only $1 ;) ! The choices were many and wonderful, but most were $2.50 or more. Multiply that by 22 stands, and often we both tried something at the same stand, and ka-ching! Boy, did it add up! But we felt it was worth it and are returning to WDW during the F&WF this November. Yum...

I am looking forward to the FW at Epcot but paying for samples??? How much food do you get in a sample?? Is it a bite or small plate???

Just wanted some clarification.

Thanks

When we went a few years ago we stayed at the Dolphin so couldn't room charge, but I agree that it would drive me crazy to try to balance all those little charges. I buy Disney Dollars over time...every time I go to the Disney store I get some and just save them to use. That way I get my points (charge card) and don't have to worry about charging or bringing cash then. As I recall, we went through a BUNCH of money (I have the wine glasses to prove it) but it was so much fun and very tasty. We are looking forward to doing this again on our trip this year!

It is a small plate. Depending on what the sample is, you could get as much as 1/2 or 3/4 a cup or so of a casserol type dish, to
one rib and a tablespoon of rice.

Now I need to decide if I want to carry cash or deal with all of the small charges? I check every single charge that is on my bill. So I wonder which will be easier for me to keep up with cash or receipts. Because I also keep track of all of the cash I spend. So then I will still have receipts to deal with. Yes, I am sort of thinking this through on here. Sorry you all had to see that.

What do you suggest? Either way, I will be tracking receipts. Maybe charging to the room will be best for me so I don't have to worry about my husband loosing any cash. (Yes, he is good at that.)

Thanks for all of the GREAT info in this thread.

It's smallish, but definitely more than just a bite. If you sample from a few of the concession stands, it can be quite filling. We did that instead of siiting down to dinner one night and it was fun and filling! :) Welove to eat, and my DH is a big eater, and we certainly weren't disappointed with the sizes of the offerings.
