DB and I are already planning on going to one halloween party this year, probably either September 20th or 27th. We were planning to go up to Orlando a few hours early and hang around DTD and check out a few hotels so we could be there right at 4.

BUT now, after seeing the menu and reading a few TR's, I really want to go to the Food and Wine fest too.

Is it possible to do F&W in the morning and get to the party at 4 on the same day? Has anyone done this? We aren't really in a position to be taking multiple days off work right now, and are pretty set on a sunday party since only I would potentially need to take the day off (he never works weekends, I sometimes do).

We've been to MK before but not to EPCOT. We aren't big drinkers, and i'm not even much of an eater, but there are several things on the menus that look good to both of us. Could we "see" EPCOT between opening and around 3-3:30?

Yes it is very possible. World Showcase opens at 11. Get there right when they open and hit as many booths as you want. If your plan is to tour Epcot, do future world rides before 11 (use fastpass for either Soarin or Test Track since you can't fastpass both).

If you're hitting the F&W on a Sunday afternoon, get there AS SOON AS IT OPEN @ 11AM ... you'll probably get a couple hours before crowds hit crazy levels. Generally if you don't have any F&W hard ticket events or seminars, avoid the weekends like the plague. Friday afternoon is not too bad but Friday night gets crowded. Saturday after ~12-1 PM is pure insanity and just gets worse. Sunday afternoon can get pretty bad too, but crowds will lighten a bit into Sunday evening.

I don't consider Sunday a bad day or a day to avoid. It is more crowded than Mon-Thurs but nowhere near what they get on Friday nights and Saturdays. Saturdays I avoid after noon to 1 PM - it can work to go in at 11 and hit a few booths, then get out. I do have to go in for concerts on a Saturday this year though.

Like the others, I agree if you get there right at 11:00, then you can have some success with F&W before crowds in the WS show up en masse. I think the bigger issue for me would be the cost of a one day ticket just to experience Food & Wine. Paying $100 to sample a few middling appetizers is pretty steep, IMHO. The food (and wine! and beer!) is fun to sample, but I don't think it's $100+ the cost of whatever you eat and drink (likely another $100 for two adults) fun.

Yeah, one day only this time around. We're toying with the idea of breaking down and buying Ap's though, since we only live an hour away.
