Food To Go at TS Restaurants

Howdy,

First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone that has posted all the great advice here. This is my first trip to WDW and it was a bit overwhelming at first. But after reading all the advice that everyone posted here, it has made preparing for my trip so much easier. I can't think I can wait any longer to go

So on to my question, I have one more TS credit on my DxDP and I was thinking of using it to get food to go on the plane on my flight back. Would this be possible at a TS restaurant? And do I need a ADR to do this?

To answer your question, No. Unfortunately TS restaurants are not set up for to go orders.
So you can't do that.

If you do have an extra credit, sometimes they will let you exchange that meal credit for snacks.
Some people take those on the plane.

2) I know folks might ask why not.
3) Well, there are good reasons.
4) The ADRs capacity for an eatery are based upon three things.
. . . the number of tables
. . . how fast you can "turn" tables
. . . the size and staffing of the kitchen
5) There is not enough capacity in staff and space to make both sitting and to-go guests.
6) Let's use an example
. . . the staff is busy trying to prepare food for a full restaurant
. . . now, one hundred people come up and all order steak dinners to-go
. . . there is not enough capacity or cooking staff to prepare both
. . . people sitting and people doing to-go both wait a long time
7) Maybe an extreme example.
8) But, you can see how this can get out of hand quickly.

NOTE: Now, I have seen people posting here that on occasion they were able to get a bowl of soup from Le Cellier on a to-go basis, but those are very few. However, I would not plan on it happening often.

Since you are on the deluxe plan, TS and CS are interchangeable. Juststop at your resort CS and get something to go before you leave.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I was going to ask about being able to do it at CS but it seems like that is possible so I will be looking into that.
