food storage questions

one of the most appealing items about our recent SSR purchase is the ability to have a full size refrigerator in our room. anyone who has 2 teen boys knows how they can eat. so i look at this as a chance to save some real money and time. we are planning to do a stop at an Albertsons and pick up groceries.

the question is : if we buy highly pershibales like ice cream and dairy and meat products will the resorts store them for us if our room isnt ready? we usually try to arrive as early in the day. i know that rooms usually arent available early so buying pershiables concernes me a bit

I have not done this at SSR, but for sure this is done at the other resorts, so it shouldn't be a problem. Just let the Bell folks know that you need items refrigerated and they will store it for you. Have a great time!!!

Yes, all the other DVC resorts have the ability to store perishables, so I am sure SSR does as well. If you're worried about this, however, why not wait until you have your room and then go to the Publix located on SR912 or the Winn Dixie located just outside the gate near DD?

That's what we usually so and it has worked well for us.
