Getting the final logistics of our April trip planned, and I have a few questions regarding meals and which rest's are best for 2 A 2 kids (age 6 & 7)...kids can finish a happy meal, but can not finish a childs meal at a restaurant- such as the chicken finger/fries at Applebee's or 99 house...(similar I guess to every sit down chain rest.)

DH is on Atkins, and will still eat that way for the most part on vaca- mainly what he'll stay away from on vaca is bread and fries etc.

So - here's where we're eating and my questions of each..

Chef Mickey's dinner on Sunday- I see there is a 'kids buffet' are they only allowed to eat off of that buffet or may they eat off the 'big buffet'?

Rain Forest Cafe /AK...I have 2 vouchers for this meal, we will be eating at dinner- In going over the menu, this is what it looks like we'll get...
Coastal Calamari and Pita Quesadillas- DD7 and I do not eat seafood, so DD6 and DH would share the calamari -and DD7 and I would share the quesadillas.

DH and DD6 would get the Alaskan King Crab- I'm wondering if this would be enough to share? Just how much do they get? Have you heard of anyoen subbing fries for the rice?

DD7 and I would get the full rack mojo bones...I know we could share this..as she normally would only eat 3 or 4 and be full.

The desserts we would get are 2 of the Diablo cakes- DH doesnt/cant eat dessert, and DD's could share 1 and I'll enjoy the other...

Does this look feasable? I would then have to purchase DD's drinks...but that's a small price to pay if we can share the above and pay with the 2 vouchers!

Then we go onto Sci Fi...no voucher-
DD's will each get a kids meal...
DH is a bit harder here...if he were to order a burger for instance, can he get it without fries? do the offer it a-la carte, and take off $$ for no fries or slaw?
I more than likely will just get a salad..

From here we head to epcot, and I have no clue where to eat!! We do have reservations for the garden grill ice cream social..I was thinking of eating a larger than normal breakfast, and then skipping lunch...then the ice cream, and then a later dinner? But where? Were not really elaborate eaters, and epcot gives me the sense that it's "fancy food" I'm concerned the kids wont find anything they eat.....We do eat chinese food, and some mexican, but not spicey stuff...your help is needed in epcot!

On our Animal Kingdom day- I am planning on not having lunch, again breakfast, a snack of some sort- and then dinner is at 515.

The other days- our PS is for lunches, and I figured dinners could be whatever we feel like at that time, probably just a light snack. We normally do not eat a large lunch, just a sandwich and fruit, so if we eat a larger than normal lunch, the DD's wont want to do a sit down big meal, which is fine with me (and my wallet!)...

I do have 2 Q&C vouchers, that are not targetted to any special place....I am hoping that I can plan well enough to use them for all 4 of us to eat....

Okay you restaurant experts...I need ya help!

You can definitely share meals at Rainforest. We shared 1 voucher meal between 3 of us, adding an extra salad. You didn't mention where you were staying, but the Q&C vouchers are a great deal at Beaches and Cream (Yacht and Beach Club) and at Pepper Market (Coronado Springs). 2 vouchers will easily feed 2 adults and 2 kids. At Beaches and Cream you can get 2 double burgers w/ bacon. Let DH take a patty from each one, and split one between the kids. Remember, the desserts here are huge, leave plenty of room. At Pepper Market the Wet Burrito is big enough for two, and so is the Sampler Chinese meal (I forget what they call it). How adventurous are your DDs? We like to go through World Showcase "sampling". We get one thing from each of the countries' counter service and share everything.

Well, lets see...DD6 is very adventurous when it comes to food, especially compared to DD7...DD6 is the seafood eater, will eat squid, calamari, Alligator, steamers, mussells, etc... DD7 wont try even a bite of it.

Grazing around epcot sounds good, as DH and DD6 could do this, and DD7 and I could eat at places we know she will eat..ie..mexico...china...italy...

I was just thinking of heading to Beaches & Cream for one of our meals....I'll have to check out the times/menu's there, I know I have heard rave revues.

We are staying at AS Movies, however we will have our truck, and will travel via that except for park trips.....

Thanks a bunch, I'll go check out deb's menu site again

Coronado Springs is not far from ASMo and would be very easy to visit if you have your own transportation. It is a beautiful resort, especially in the evening. Eating at Pepper Market and strolling around the lake might be a nice "get away from it all" evening if you need a little quiet time.
