Ok a first timer question. We have never taken a cruise before. My brother and another friend has taken many cruises but never been on a disney cruise. My brother tells me that one of the best things about the cruises they go on is the unlimited Lobster. He said that his server knew to bring him lobster each night two at a time. My friend has also experienced this. She said that what we will enjoy most is steak and lobster every night if we want. I have looked every where in the posts but can't find lobster served. Does Disney offer Lobster on their cruises or do you have to go with whats on the menus that I have seen? We love good steak and seafood and looking forward to unlimited lobster. Someone please share some good news for me!

Sorry I have not seen steak and lobster on the menu every night. They will serve steak nightly and lobster on the last night or formal night (can't remember which one). I have cruised on the oasis and they did not serve lobster more than one night so I wonder what cruise line they were on. Either way the food on Disney is great and you won't regret it.

Thanks. We don't want Lobster every night and I am glad to know that we will get it one night! That's awesome. I will try to figure out which night is formal night on the 5 night dream cruise.

Disney has different menus each night, with lobster appearing once on six night or longer cruises. I don't know if they will bring you lobster on other nights, but even if they are willing to do so, you are cheating yourself by not trying the many other wonderful menu items.

On my first cruise, at the Captain's Gala dinner, I asked for the lobster dinner with a side of the venison tenderloin. The second time I asked for lobster with a side of lobster and received two tails.

I consistently book early dining because I don't like to eat late, but I have heard of people with late dining eating three or four lobster tails!

Not sure you'll have lobster on a 5 night. We did a 5 night on the Wonder in 2010 and I don't remember lobster. It might only be on longer cruises.

I've never seen lobster available other than one evening; I did see some people ask for several and get them. It really isn't great lobster, but it is good.

I would venture that it was far from THE best thing on our cruise. If that's your reason, I'd go to the all-you-can-eat lobster restaurants in Orlando and save thousands of dollars. The dining experience, though, is one of the highlights of the cruise, with a good choice of dishes that you will not find at most restaurants in your home town, an elegant setting, an vacation atmosphere, and attentive waiters. Now that is one of the best things about the cruise.

On the recent Hawaiian cruise we were offered lobster medallions (small chunks) on top of a fillet. Then we had huge lobster tails one night. (I had two.) The next night I saw the waiter serve the same type of lobster tail to a nearby table, so they must've had some leftover.

Some table mates told us that on cruises that stop at Castaway Cay the day after lobster has been served in the main dining rooms, they serve the leftover lobster at the adult barbeque on CC.

Lobster is available one night on a 7 night cruise. As above, there are dishes made with lobster on other nights, but the lobster tails are one night only. On that night, you can have as many as you wish. That is typically night 6 on a 7 night Caribbean cruise. We have seen lobster burgers at Castaway Cay (Serenity Bay) on day 7, and always figured that meant there were leftovers.

I'm excited to hear that there is a lobster night on the 7-night cruise. I've been on the shorter cruises with no lobster. :sad1:

I also read somewhere that there is free alcohol during the Captain's Gala (formal night). Is that true and what exactly is free?

There are servers roaming around the lobby atrium with trays of colored beverages--several varieties. If you can catch one of them, anything on the tray is free. You could hypothetically have several, but there are two short windows when the drinks are available. It is NOT all alcohol free for that time--if you order something from a bar, you will be charged.

The freebies were rum punch, some sort of green martini, and?????a couple of other things. There are virgin beverages as well.

Lobster is very tricky to make in mass quantities. It can be easily overcooked and the ones on the cruise ship are always frozen and never fresh. After eating fresh lobster in Maine the frozen ones just don't cut it. I found the other menu items on the cruise are far better than the lobster that they serve. I wouldn't get your hopes up about the lobster as you are likely to be disappointed.

That green martini was an 'appletini' made with some apple liquer or vodka? I tried one, too sour for me. I'll stick with my von boyage drinks.

We just got back from Dream and can answer the Lobster question I ask earlier. We had the most amazing Ribeye steak and Lobster meal! And yes it was GREAT! Not cooked in mass. It was grilled fresh right in front of you at the adult beach at CC. So anyone doing the upcoming DD on the Dream it is a must do. All the food was great including a wonderful meal at PALO. I will glad to answer any questions.
