I have a friend who can't eat pork. Is there any substitutions on their buffet to allow for this to give him a bit more variety than the chicken? Or is there a kosher option available there?

Aren't there a number of items offered that aren't pork? The schnitzel and sausages are out I guess but don't they serve beef and fish at dinner?

There is a variety of meat available. I don't think all the sausages are made from pork so just ask and they will be able to tell you. I think they have a carving station with roast beef as well as the roasted chicken and baked salmon. There is plenty to eat there that isn't pork.

They have weisswurst, which is a sausage made with veal. Salmon and roast chicken are always available. You'd be better off going at dinner when there is more of a selection of non-pork items, including saurbraten and beef roulades.

doesn't german 'tater salad have bacon in it? (and yes, i believe it is on the buffet :))

Your friend won't have any problem finding food without pork at Biergarten. I don't really care for pork either (except bacon) and walked out stuffed. :)

I don't recall any bacon in the potato salad. But I can eat it because it's HOT, not cold like the American version.

And, Simon, that's good to hear. He has digestive issues with pork; it tears his stomach up so he avoids it.
