My parents were at WDW last week. They sent me a photo of their mango pie from Yak & Yeti. I know that the Y&Y gets mixed reviews, but it was one of their favorite restaurants.

Ok, so I have been lurking. Sad, that I could not go to Disney this year. But, somehow, I got my husband to agree to send me for my birthday this year again! So, figured, I post some food pics that we took. Sept 24th-Oct 6th 08'.

We stopped here for a lunch/snack with my DDad and DSM. We usually love this place but this was average. Not because of Sunshine Seasons though...

DH's sandwich - this was nothing special, but it was good. He and I shared it:

Now as for me...I let DH pick. I like pretty much anything here and I really love the strawberry shortcake. DH decided to surprise me with something very thoughtful. Every time we go to one of our grocery stores, I check out the sushi. I had a veggie sushi with my stepmom once and I really liked it. I love avocado and wasabi so it was a true hit. So what did DH bring me?

California Roll. Hmmmm. He assumed that "California" meant it was vegetarian. Nope. Crab. Not a favorite of mine. Fortunately my DSM does like this so I gave it to her. It was a VERY sweet gesture from DH but...ick.

And for dessert?

Yeah. Not exactly strawberry shortcake. They were out, so he decided to get me a huge pickle and we'd share his dessert. OKay by me!

The dessert DH and I shared and DDad and DSM each got:

Key Lime Pie - this has the fluffiest filling and meringue ever. I usually prefer whipped cream, but this is a favorite we get every trip. DDad and DSM were both very happy with theirs.

And I am looking forward to the shortcake and other entrees on our next trip

This was very good - I remember the eggs here being like a huge fluffy-ish omelet and this was more like the croissant breakfast sandwiches we get other places.

How was this?, It looks so good! What did you eat there besides cheesecake? My husband and I would like to try this on our upcoming trip but a little nervous because we have our kids with us and not sure if it is a kid friendly place. If we don't get there this time hopefully someday!

i've been twice and loved it both times! that's my favorite dessert (so far) in all of WDW. it is kid friendly as long as you don't let your kids run wild like at ohana's! there's a dress code there too but it's nothing too fancy - my hubby wore khaki shorts and a polo and he was fine. in 2007 we ordered calamari and crab cakes as an appetizer, filet and lobster (both of us) as our entrees and the almond-crusted cheesecake and key lime creme brulee for dessert. EVERYTHING was excellent! the creme brulee is my husband's favorite! and he will DRINK the green peppercorn brandy sauce they use on the filet. i don't have those pics on this computer but i will post pics of our food from our april trip last year.

my drink - raspberry mojito. so good! this is my 2nd favorite drink at WDW next to the lapu lapu.

appetizers:

tuna tartar - we don't usually get this but we wanted to try something new. it was okay. too mushy for my taste but we ate it!

crab cakes - SO GOOD!!!!

entrees:

my food - filet and lobster - yum!

hubby's food - filet. for some ungodly reason he didn't want lobster this night. he loves the sauce they have here but i know it changes seasonally so it may not be the same stuff when you go. sorry it's blurry!

i forgot to take pics of the dessert this time. musta been the champagne and the mojito!

if you do eat here be sure to check the time for wishes that night and try to get an ADR about an hour beforehand. we've done this both times and watched wishes while we had our dessert........SO NICE!!!

Lettuce Wraps..........Way too spicy for me, the lettuce was a bit limp, over all a bit of a let down.
(Try Yak and Yeti Lettuce bowls soooo much nicer)
