Can everyone list what food stores they can think of that have outlets?

I just bought a freezer and figured if I can get cheap frozen meals, would really work out to stock up and have some on hand for dh's lunches, etc.

Somebody on here has mentioned Stouffer's and when I searched for a close one, found out we have one just 30 minutes from us.

Then we also have a Schwebels factory/outlet.. so thinking I could buy bread/buns there? (btw, anyone freeze and thaw bread/buns? and if so, how does it turn out? Good enough to use for sandwiches, etc?)

Trying to think if there's any other companies I could search for to see if we have any outlets close by.

Thanks! :)

I used to shop at a Pepperidge Farm outlet and routinely put bread, etc in the freezer. I still buy the day old here at my local bakery and right into the freezer it goes. PF, sells a bunch of other brands too, google it and you may be pleasantly surprised.

The brands we have here may be different than elsewhere in the US, but we have a Pepperidge Farms outlet as well as Entenmann's (baked goodies) that has Freihofer's bread, Thomas's English muffins, etc near my house.

Not sure what part of Ohio you are in but there is a Stouffers warehouse in Solon that have great deals on frozen foods.

I freeze bread, rolls, buns, etc. all the time.

They don't keep as long as meat. Freezer air dries them out and freezer burn seems to set in earlier. I would say freeze only what you plan to use up in the next month or so. Be sure to defrost them in the fridge, otherwise they get wet spots.

And don't waste too much freezer space on bread - meat is a better use of the space because it tends to be a bigger savings. But if you have some space that you won't fill with meat or even veggies, it's fine.

Funny, I was intending on making a thread about the Schwebel's outlet this evening. We've got 2 w/in 10 minutes of our house.

There's a Wonder/Hostess outlet in Ellet if you're familiar with the area.

I always have at least one loaf of bread, 1 package of buns & 1 package of english muffins in the freezer. I've never had any problem with the bread but occasionally I'll get some freezer burn on the english muffins. I don't have an awesome freezer though... just the top of one of those dorm-sized fridge/freezer combos that's 10+ years old, so I blame a lot of it on that.

Re: food outlets though, specifically the Schwebel's outlet... are the prices really that good? Better than what I could get with a store sale or a doubled coupon? Like I said, I've got 2 Schwebel outlets near me that are close, but it would be an extra stop on my trip.

We used to have a Pepperidge Farm outlet in Parsippany, but it closed a few years ago. Where's the one by you? I can't get any good info on their website.

It's in Toms River on Rt 37.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! :)

Heading out to Stouffers today to see what they offer and what their prices are like, so I'll report back on that one.

We do have a Wonder/Hostess outlet in Akron too, that I remember going to when I was a kid.. haven't been recently. Might have to check that one out, but thinking if I go there, I'll just be buying way too many sweets that we don't need.

Also have an Entenmann's outlet in Strongsville, so might visit that one eventually, but again, not sure I want that many sweets, lol!

Sure wish we have PF outlet around here.. or Swansons, etc.. would love to be able to stock up on frozen meals super cheap.

When I hit our Entenmann's outlet, I usually buy 2 pkgs of Arnold flatbreads and 4 loaves of Freihofer's whole wheat bread (the GOOD kind) and spend $6.00. I do also buy sweets sometimes though. the Pepperidge Farms outlet used to carry Soup at Hand (which was perfect for my mom) and snacks, as well as bread, cookies and frozen items.

I'm pretty sure the entemanns, freihoffers, Arnold outlets are all Bimbo outlets. Our store gets very little entemanns but tons of maire sp? Italian bread. I'm going to search for stouffers,

Ok, took the 25-minute trip to Stouffer's yesterday and was well worth the drive.

Ended up getting all the following for $28.33:

3 pound, 4 ounce family size frozen meal of chicken parmesan/spaghetti (6.99)
12-ounce container of chicken/pasta/vegetable bake (2.60)
2 bags of 1 lb, 8oz. honey citrus chicken saute meals (2.19 ea)
3 bags of 1 lb, 5oz. lean cuisine market creations -various flavors (1.99 ea)
2-pack of pepperoni french bread pizzas (2.40)
and a box of 48 six-ounce pouches of macaroni and cheese (5.99!)

Definitely will be going back!

You should also look for factory stores too. I used to live 2 miles from a Pepperidge Farm Plant where they made the Milano and other type cookies, Goldfish crackers, and breads. And the employee company store was open to the public every Sat from 8-noon. Sometimes they would have certain sections of the store blocked off to the public(for employees only). But I was still able to get some great deals. I got a huge bag(8 lbs) of Milano cookies for $5. Bread for $1 a loaf. Big boxes of goldfish crackers for a couple dollars. The cookies and goldfish crackers were in bulk type packaging(not packaged like you see at the grocery store).
