Can anyone tell me what kind of food they serve on the Eurostar and are the prices reasonable or expensive? Also, are you allowed to take your own food onboard with you??

I have no idea about prices on board I'm afraid but we did take food with us and it was no problem. I took a full on breakfast too, fruit juice, fruit, pain au chocolat and brioches to get in the mood! :)

Hey ho if nothing else I'll go onboard packed with a full pack lunch there and back :rotfl2: Yours sounded yummy!!!!
Thank you :thumbsup2

Not sure if it's still the same but when the Eurostar was at Waterloo my hubby was stopped from taking a Burger King coke from the concourse through the gates. Bottled drinks seem to be fine though - we've been allowed to take bottles of water through so it could just have been the type of container the drink was in.

If I remember right a croissant and coffee set me back between 4 and 5 euros. There's a Marks and Spencer at St Pancras so personally I'd stop there or take a packed lunch with us rather than buying train food again.

Thanks for the heads up about the BK coke :thumbsup2
€4-5 for croissant and coffee :scared1: Packed lunch it is! But mmm those sandwiches at St Pancras aren't just any sandwiches .. they're M&S sandwiches :rotfl2:

Until now we've always been in teh carriaes that serve a hot breakfast.

This trip coming is our first one in standard class, so thanks for asking this question.

Our train is at 8am, so we'll need to be at check in at around 7am. Does anyone happen to know what time the M&S opens?

Is your train direct to DLP from St Pancras? I only ask as the only time I was given was 10.14am getting us in around 2.00pm -- an earlier one would be of been more ideal for us :worried:

Wisdom on teh interwebs says 7 some days, 8 others :S Looks like there's a Tesco that opens at 6 nearish by

No, we go on a Tuesday so have to change in Lille. We've gotten the direct every other time, so I'm a little nervous abut the changes. I'm sure it'll be fine though. :)

Ah that'll explain the earlier time. I'm sure the change will be perfectly fine -- Mickey won't leave you behind :)

We always get the direct train to DLP and always take with us sandwiches, crisps and drinks as the prices on the Eurostar are extremely high. So we just buy a cup of coffee on board. I think the one thing I remember is that the little tubs of Pringles were about three times the price you would pay here; so taking your own stuff is definitely a good option. :thumbsup2

Thanks Ali :thumbsup2

Your welcome Hun!:goodvibes When we go in a few weeks' time I'll try and write some prices down - they used to have a price list on the Eurostar website of what costed what to eat and drink on board the Eurostar; but I've not seen it on there for some time.:confused3

Definitely thinking of getting an EOS before we board the Eurostar for the journey home as the sandwiches are so expensive on the Eurostar and nothing special - give me more of chance to try and eat everything off the menu at EOS!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm pulling my hair out as I want to plan EoS into my schedule but it all depends on when I can fit it in and that all boils down to whether they're gonna extend the opening hours in October for the 20th Anniversary. So far it just says extended opening hours are from April - September sob sob so I have to try and put my 'Monica planning alter ego' to one side and breathe and learn the art of patience :furious: Also, IF they extend the opening hours past 7pm in October I may get another park ticket for the day we arrive (with my avios points). We should be able to get in the park by 4pm (unless we leave our luggage in the storage lockers and check in to the hotel after park closes) but if the park closes at 7pm it's hardly worth it for 3 hours.

Sounds like you plan on working your way through their menu :rotfl2: And why not .. it is your birthday celebrations after all :thumbsup2
