Hi, can you please tell me what you can and what type of food items you can`t take with you. I was only really thinking about tea bags and coffee (we are a bit of a pain and only like a certain kind) and maybe some things for DD age 6.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Hi

Most packaged stuff is ok. We take tea bags, coffee and have even taken cereal. The only things I think would cause a problem are cooked meats and fruit - this is the stuff they normally ask you to deposit in bin bags before you leave the plane - although I haven't seen any people put any legs of lamb in !!!!

Thanks Maxine, it was only a few basics we wanted to take, not a weekly shop from Tesco. But when you start reading all the official bumph then it looks like you can`t take anything. (Have you ever wondered what they do with the big bag of stuff they manage to collect at the end of the flight??)

Thanks again Phil

Hi,

Before we went last time I emailed customs dept Us and asked the same question.

No meat product fresh or tinned
No Fruit fresh or tinned
No Milk or dried milks

Canned fish ie Salmon is ok.

Coffee, tea, biscuits cake and cereals not containing fruit are ok.

Hope this helps,

Lynda

No Milk or dried milks

Does anyone know if this includes baby formula? I was planning on taking some since they have different brands in the USA.
