Mexico in Epcot: Is the food any good? When we ride the Mexico ride and it goes by the restaurant it smells really good. I was just wondering if it is worth trying.

Can't stop switching around and contemplating my ADR's!!!

It's one of our favorite places but as with all such posts you'll get a whole range of responses. It is hated by some, ok for others, and great to yet others.

I liked it, and I am not a really experienced Mexican food eater. On top of that we had a sick child with us. They brought chips and salsa which the kids really liked. Watching the boat was relaxing. I thought the whole restaurant was very interesting, and calming...I guess the dark room helped. My DH had a beef meal and I had a chicken, and there was a standard kids meal. I just didn't like a Large group coming in to the right of me and in front of me...decided to put a table of 6 kids together (oldest looked about 9) and then the parents(?) decided to sit at another table and start drinking...then they were yelling over us to their kids...not a pleasant dining experience. But up until they came I was having a wonderful time...I think I got a margarhita. ;)

DH and I really liked it. I was nervous that the restaurant food was going to be like the cantina (counter service) food, but it wasn't at all.

We did not like it at all! The place was beautiful inside but other than that is was a horrible experiance all together. I love Mexican food. I did not see one thing that I liked so I ordered off the kids menu. I got a chicken quesadilla and it was horrible. It tasted like it was made with 5 day old cold turkey, yuck!! The chips were good but that was it! Like the first reply said, everyone has a differant opinion, but that's mine.

I've always enjoyed the food there, even though it's pretty overpriced (IMHO). The atmosphere is wonderful, of course. My biggest challenge is trying to read the menu by candlelight. :earseek:

We too enjoy the food at San Angel Inn when we go. I have never had a problem with service or bad food on any of our trips there.

My family did not like ( 2 adults and 3 kids, 15, 12, 12) the food.

We thought the food smelled good and like the atmophere when we did the boat ride too.

Hated eating in the dark.

San Angel Inn is on our 'not to be missed' list when we go to WDW. We enjoy it a lot.

We love the food and the atmosphere...the darkness is very calming to me in the midst of a busy day in the parks it's a nice switch. The food is always great...nice to have something other than Tex-Mex which is what you find at most Mexican spots. :wave2:

DW, DD and I loved San Angel. DD loved the ride and we got a table right by the water. Food was great. Good chips and salsa, good nachos, and the entrees were fresh. It is a tough decsion in Epcot, but one we were glad to stick with!!!

Two words: fiesta margaritas. :cool1:

We really do love San Angel Inn, and as others have said, it's definitely on our "must-do" list every trip. The food is great, the ambience is even better.
Give it a try, there's a good chance you'll like it.
