Yes it is free and fairly self-explanatory. The first few days it can be cumbersome as you get all your food loaded. And sometimes I really hate using their search function for something like, say, boiled cauliflower. I will get pages and pages of cauliflower things and it takes me forever to find the "right" one.
You can put everything in there and it stores it for you. You can then do daily/weekly/month reports on your progress for activity, nutritional requirements/etc. I'm not sure what you exactly want. You should just use if for a few days and see how it works for you. I like the fact that ti is web-based because I can put my meals in when I am at work or home and don't have to worry about carting a diskette around with me or writing stuff down so I can input it later.
