Food Courts... Do all the resorts have them

or only the Values and Moderates?

We stayed at the Contemporary in February - but there was no food court - only the Tempo Grab and Go (which I realize is temporary, while there is construction going on).

Is there generally a food court in the Contemporary (and other Deluxe resorts), or not, because there are sit down restaurants?

We are planning to stay in a value for our next trip - a food court just works really well for our family/vacation style (ie, a child with special needs - can get anything he wants - but minimal waiting)...

My understanding is there is no food court at the Boardwalk Inn. . . sorry, that is all I know. . .

Most of the deluxe resorts have a "counter service" option, but not the kind that can be called a "food court." (The Boardwalk area and Old Key West are especially notorious for having extremely paltry counter-service offerings). It's not because of table service. The moderates, except for POFQ, have table service. The values and mods tend to cater to more budget-minded travelers. Plus, they are larger than the deluxes, and a greater number of guests can be moved more rapidly through a food court.

Food courts are generally found at the values and moderates. If one of your major trip requirements is easy access at the resort to a wide variety of counter service type food, I'd recommend doing exactly what you are doing and stay at a value or a moderate.

I knew when I planned my trip that there wouldn't be a food court in the Contemporary... I thought that the access to the monorail would be more important.

The first trip for any family has a learning curve - but for us - with a special needs child - the learning curve was even greater

We learned that we could live with buses, but we needed a food court!
