How much would you plan on spending for two adults and two kids for 8 to 9 days at Disneyland? I'm sure we would eat off site here and there.

Thanks for any opinions. :goodvibes

For the DW and I we plan for $50 per person per day for food costs. Its meant to be a bit of an overestimation since its always much better to have an not need than to need & not have when it comes to budget concerns/food $ and always eat dinner at Blue Bayou or Carthay Circle which can be pricey.

It can vary so much! Many people budget $50 - $100 per person. For my family, it's more like $100/day for our party of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids - but we eat breakfast in the room, share quick service meals and snacks, and often eat dinner offsite).

Check out the menus here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/dining/menus.cfm

And here: http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

And from there you can figure out a budget that meets your family's dining habits.

With five of us we spend nearly 300 per day on food. That breaks down to 60 bucks per person. 60x4=240. 240x9 = alot of money.

We budget 50 dollars a day per person for two adults. Now, we eat breakfast in the room, we usually do counter service meals, and we share dinner. However, we want plenty of money to eat snacks! :lmao:

We "budget" $50 a day per person average. If we are going to do a character meal or a "major meal" (ie Club 33 or Carthay), I will pad the budget for that, but realistically, we can usually stick to our $50 a day.

Can you eat for less than $50.00 per person, per day? Absolutely! BUT, like others have said, it's better to have the money set aside/planned for in case you need it, and not have to agonize over not having planned well. We've found that $50.00 for each of us per day, really works well.

Plus, anything left over can go for LOTS of snacks, or go back into your Disneyland budget for next time!(WIN/WIN;)

Take a look at the menus posted in the above link and "figure it out." In general I would budget $50 per day per adult and $30 per child. This covers lunch, dinner & one snack. Breakfast is always in the room. If you plan to do any table service or character meals you will need to budget more for those days.

So another question somewhat related to this...

Do any of you know any of the grocery delivery places I could order from? I'm not planning on getting much but maybe some fruit and bagels or something. I know people think that is expensive to have it delivered but I'm used to food prices in Alaska, so I'm sure it will be about what I'm expecting.

Anywhere but Vons. I can't get their site to work.

There are four of us too, and I am setting aside $150 per day on giftcards for food and trinkets. If we go over that, I will use my bank card. I also plan on spending $100 at Mimi's Cafe for the 6 nights we are staying at HOJO. So for Disneyland that comes out to $37.50 per day!

On another thread, somebody mentioned getting groceries delivered from Albertsons. I haven't done delivery from either them or Vons (we always drive from Arizona, so we always have a car).

With 2 adults and 2 kids last May/June we spent about 100-150$ a day, usually choosing one nice restaurant or character meal a day and then snacking or hitting up the counter service restaurants the rest of the day. My youngest was 2 and he shared with his 6 y/o brother a lot during that trip. This year's trip we are budgeting 200$ per day because my boys will be 4 & 7 and they eat so much more this year than they did last year so we want to err on the side of caution with the hungry boys :) I should note we are a family who enjoys the meal aspect of vacations as much as everything else, so we are inclined to spend more (splurging on appetizers, light up fruit punch drinks for the kids or souvenir cups, alcoholic drinks when applicable for us, dessert).

There are 6 of us. Mom & Dad, two older boys, 15 & 14 (they eat like men!) and two little girls, 6 & 4 (they eat like birds). We are able to eat for about $200 a day (not including character dining) We eat the "complimentary" breakfast at our motel (park vue inn) and then bring in lots of snacks (protein bars, cheese sticks, granola bars, etc.) My husband and boys usually get a corn dog for lunch (they claim DLR has the worlds best corn dogs!) I don't eat much til dinner. I just don't get hungry. We ate in the park every night. So far my favorite place to eat in the park is Cafe Orleans. The Monte Cristo is the bomb!!! It's so big I took half of it back to the motel and had it for breakfast. My least favorite place was Wine Country Trattoria in DCA. Very average. We also had a late lunch at Ariel's Grotto which we really enjoyed. The food was good! Our next trip we will probably eat out of the park some. There's a Mimi's Cafe very near. The one in Reno is good, so we'll try it.

We plan on about $30 a day per person on average. Sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less. You can spend as little or as much as you want. We share a lot and that's a great way to save.

We always budget $300 per day for 5 of us DD16, DS12, DS14, DH & Myself. We always make sure to book a hotel that offers free breakfast to save money & we eat offsite sometimes so, I try to look for discounts & coupons by signing up on restaurant websites for their eclubs & check restaurant.com for coupons.

We are a family of 4, DH, DS7, DS4. We always eat breakfast on the room, we bring in reusable bottles for water, lots of snacks (breakfast bars, fruit, crackers, fruit snacks, nuts, mini packs of cookies, chips), and 2 peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches each. We eat one "treat" and one meal in the park per day. We budget $20/person per day. It's usually more then enough with our way of eating.

We always bring plenty of snacks, sodas & water for our room to save money as well

$200 a day is a good number to go with...my credit card bill at the end of the trip (almost all purchases on there) usually adds up to about $200 a day -including a few souvenirs, for a family of 4.

Breakfast - $40
Lunch - $50
Dinner - $80
Snacks/Treats $20

We dine at Blue Bayou, do a Character meal and stay at hotels that don't offer breakfast.

My "back of the envelope" for our upcoming DL trip is slightly under $100/day (plus alcohol) for 2A, 1C. We have dietary issues (gluten intolerant, I have a list of things I'm supposed to minimize, my DD is vegetarian, my DH is a carnivore)

Our hotel room has a fridge and a microwave, so we'll eat breakfast there, and it's figured in to that number.

We're also taking the main part of our lunch into the parks - sandwiches in my bag. We'll buy drinks, fruit and veggies, snacks, etc to go with it.

Dinner will be out of the parks, but table service.

This doesn't include alcohol (which can get spendy fast), and it's not a hard number for us. We spend what we spend, but that seems to be about average.
