We will be there Oct. 26th to the 31st.

I am right now thinking 75.00 a day for food for me and DS. I have been looking at menus. And I see things we would order. Funny for me I like more of the Appetizers.

I am really planning it this way.

Oct. 26th - Hoop De Doo (so not in food budget)
Oct. 27th - 75.00
Oct. 28th - 75.00
Oct. 29th - 75
Oct. 30th - 75
Oct. 31st -- ??? depends on when flight leaves. We may need to do breakfast and lunch. Right now I am thinking 20.00 for breakfast.

I do plan on bringing some things for the room.

for counter service eating. I even think it will allow you some 'snacks' here and there.

Also, we find that we eat much less in the way of meals when it is so hot out and we are theme parking. Usually 2 meals a day with a light snack for breakfast and a snack now and again (because we hate to pass up those goodies!) at the parks.

Have a great time!:sunny:

That's sounds about right if you are doing mostly counter service.

I don't know why I was so shocked by the $6 hot dogs, and $6 kids meals when we were there last month.....but I was...lol

I think your budget sounds pretty acurate for two......assuming your son is a child, not a teen.

Have a great trip!

That would be more than enough for my family. On our last trip in November, we averaged just under $17/person/day for all meals and snacks for 3 adults and 1 child (8). We ate breakfast in our condo and out for lunch and dinner.

Even if we spent double - $34/person, it would still be under $75 for 2 so you should be fine unless you plan a lot of sit down meals and alcohol.

I budget $100/day for four people, two adults and two teenagers.
Sometimes we spend more and sometimes less, so it evens out in the end. I save money by splitting an entree with my DH for lunch and eating dinner off property. There are plenty of chain restaurants nearby and if you have a car, you can save a lot by eating there.

It will be me and DS (he will be 14 at the time) I know he eats a lot now. But I know if it is hot he will not want to eat.

I plan on doing 1 sitdown for sure. He wants to go to Coral Reef and Hoop is my choice. Other than that it will be counter.

When I go to all ears and look at menus how can I tell what is counter and what is sit down?

Thanks

I think you will be fine if you're only planning on the 2 sit down meals. We plan 150-200 a day for our family of 4, (all adult prices like your son) and we do just fine. The $200 days would be big splurges like the Hoop De Doo, but you've already taken that into account.

Most of the restaurants are designated. Some say counter service, some say kiosk, some say character meal. You can also check your Birnbaum guide (or other guidebooks).

I averaged $60 a day last trip. It was for 2, myself and my 15 year old son. He ate a lot less than he does at home. He didn't want to waste time eating and it was hot. He did make up for it when we got home.
