There will be four of us- me, DH, DD-17, and DS-11. We're not much on alcohol, so that won't be an expense, but we do like to get dessert.

Our TS meals are dinner at PCH Grill, Minnie and Friends breakfast, WOC lunch at Carthay Circle, Surf's Up Breakfast, dinner at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, lunch at Rainforest Cafe, breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen, dinner at Naples, breakfast at Storytellers, dinner at Trader Sam's, dinner at Tortilla Jo's, and dessert at Blue Bayou. The rest of our meals are either counter service or mid-afternoon snacks (like Ghiradelli or Wetzels Pretzels). The dining plan at WDW was never a good deal for us since we often have breakfast as our TS of the day and counter service at night.

We will have an AP, so will get a 10% discount....

For my daughter and I for 10 days Orlando and 2 days beach I'm budgeting $1000 for food. Some meals will be $30 total some will be $12..too hard to figure.

So I said 36 meals each over 12 days is 72 meals let's say $12 each meal avg equals $864 then add snacks makes $1000

Might add some days we could hit Mcdonalds for breakfast or even skip a meal. Lots of water.... sometimes too hot to eat at Disneypopcorn::

My budget sounds about right then. I have $2000 budgeted for the four of us. One night, we will be doing the Fantasmic Dessert Party, and I didn't include that in the $2000 budget....

When we went in January we budgeted $200 a day for our family of 6 (myself, DH, DD 11, DD 9, DS 7 and DS 4). Somedays we ate less than that when we had brekkie at our hotel, but other days when we went to a character Brekkie or BTRBBQ it was over. But in the end we figured that per day was average for eating out every day.

Have a magical time

We spent more than $200 a day on average for 2 adults, DD11 and DD15. If you buy 2 meals a day, including at least 1 table service meal, and purchase something 'small' at a cafe for the 3rd meal, it's easy to do. I budgeted $175/day but prices had risen in the 3 years since I was there last.

Me and DD5 spent an average of $50 / day on food in southern California. Our daily meals consisted of one meal in a theme park, one meal at outside the park, and one meal from groceries in our hotel room. Our "big meal" was usually breakfast or lunch.

If we stuck to fast food or counter service, we could have saved more. But the wallet was hit harder by Goofy's Kitchen, Carthay Circle, and Legoland's Pizza & Pasta Buffet - those really brought up the average cost. But by taking our time at these convenient air conditioned lunch venues, we could skip afternoon naps in our hotel (and hot afternoon walks). I didn't pay extra for character interaction, I paid extra for air conditioning and a leisurely dining experience.
