Can someone tell me what food options there are after we get off the plane at mco? I'd like to grab a quick bite to eat before we get on magical express. Is that allowed? Will magical express care that we've stopped for food? Would we do that after we get our bags? Thank you in advance for the info!

We just ate at Burger King, weren't looking for anything "big". You can eat before getting on the Magical Express. No food would be allowed on the bus. I would claim your luggage first.

Magical Express runs buses 24\7. Take your time eating, etc. When you arrive at Magical Express, you will get in a line and just wait for a bus. When you book Magical Express, you are not assigned a specific bus

What airline are you flying? There are fast food locations that are on the airside (after your deplane, but prior to getting on the tram, which takes you to the landside, where baggage claim and ground transportation are located).

I suggest checking the status of your flight, a day or two in advance, to check on your estimated arrival gate. Then reference the below attachment for a list of dining options. There are many choices, but if you are in a hurry, try to select one that is close to your gate. There is a central food court on the landside, after passing by security, but MCO is a very large airport, and detouring to the food court will take extra time.

If you pick up something easy at a fast food location, you can grab it before boarding the tram and collecting your bags. It will take a little time for the bags to arrive, depending on time of day and number of arriving pax with bags.

DME will not hold you to a particular boarding time, just the date. Eating/drinking on the bus is not allowed.

It’s such a large airport you can’t really list them all. If you run a search for mco menu or something similar the top result should be for all the restaurants at the airport sorted by terminals or gates I can’t remember.

Edit: the site listed above is the one I was thinking of

After you get off of the tram in the main terminal (landside terminal) and exit security (any airline), the main food court is "straight ahead".

Think: Entering a football field from an end zone and heading to midfield. (The fountain or Christmas tree outside the Hyatt hotel corresponds to the ten yard line using this model.)

Other posters have provided the links. Just wanted to add that we always stop at Chick Fil A for a bite and watching the fish in the tank before getting on ME. One year we got face painting done at the food court. Never had an issue with taking the bus at a later time that day. No one has ever asked us what took us so long given our plane landed at X time :)

Perfect all!!! Thank you so much!!!! It's been many a year that we've flown here and couldn't remember it all. You all have been very, very helpful!!

Just bear in mind that with DME not providing luggage service anymore, you will have to get your own bags from baggage claim.

I flew in a week ago, Sat afternoon. Out at the Southwest gate there was plenty of options. In the main terminal only Mcd's and Panda Express were open.

Many things are closed so be prepared to be flexible with what you are looking for. I was in the terminal for 2.5 hours after landing in Oct and the best I could do was Chik Fil A. My travelling companions were really looking forward to Nathan's Hot Dogs but it was closed.

Is the whole food court open now? We were there in October and there was literally Chik Fi A, McDonalds and one other (Mexican maybe) open. The food court was deserted.

Maybe it's all open again?

McD and Panda were the only ones open. But...near the Southwest gates everything was open, so choose carefully.

And note that Chick-Fil-A is never open on Sundays, if you happen to be traveling on that day of the week. It’s our preferred quick serve because their grilled chicken nuggets are gluten free, but we have had to find alternatives when on the road on a Sunday.

I'm not sure what time you are flying but I've found that many close early and don't open very early in the morning either, but there will always be something. Flying out at 9:30 am the other day only Burger King and Starbucks was open in the food court area by the gates. After 7pm there always seem to be less options as well.

Yeah, I was going to make this point too. It is pretty shocking how much is closed right now. For us, it was a quick and very real reminder of just how bad things are for tourism and travel in Orlando and Central Florida.
