Food aside, how bad is Tony's?

we have an ADR at Tony's for 2:20 pm. My thinking was that it would give us a great view of the parade. We keep kosher, therefore our meals are basically pre-selected TV dinners. So the food is irrelevant to us. I know the restaurant is considered pretty bad, but the question is - if the food wasn't an issue, would it still be awful?

If the food wasn't disgraceful then it'd be a great, centrally located, MK restaurant.

I can see how, even if you got a window seat, your view would be obstructed by people standing.

You manage to keep Kosher? You are my hero, I manage about 75 to 80% tops. And while the food is bland Tony's has great atmosphere and the 2 times I have eaten there great service.

We've never had a bad experience at Tony's. Yes, the food isn't great, but it's not awful (IMHO) and the staff has always been friendly and the design is lovely (light and airy, tables aren't too close together). Unless you are leaving the park after eating, however, I'm not a fan of the location.

I have never had a good dinner there. I tried 4 different times the last one being 5 years ago vowed never to go back

We heard so many bad reviews from the food to the service, that we put off trying Tony's for a long time. We finally decided to try it. The food isn't "top shelf", but from our experience it wan't bad either. Our overall experience was good. Our meal was good and the service was good. We did have to wait a little bit to be seated (maybe about 20 minutes).

Since you know what the kosher meal already tastes like and can rule out food as a deciding factor, the restaurant itself is actually quite nice. Outside, you can find Lady and Tramp's paw prints in the cement in the center of a heart. The film plays on a television in the lobby, and the restaurant walls are filled with references to the film. There's a large fountain with a statue of Lady and Tramp in the center, and even a window that shows the back alley where Lady and Tramp had their first date at Tony's. Overall, the atmosphere is nice.

As far as parade viewing, if you do the The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package, you get a really good parade viewing spot. If you are not doing the package and request to sit outside, the view isn't that great, but the floats are tall enough that you'll be able to see some of it.

What we usually do is watch it from in front of the Barber shop on Main Street. The viewing area is never crowded there, even at the last minute, and is perfect! Unfortunately, you probably wouldn't be able to make it to that viewing location with a 2:20 Tony's ADR though.

food aside? the food was so bad I didn't notice anything else. Can't imagine the kosher meal being much better, although Disney has those brought in from outside the park. But if all you want is a parade spot, it shouldn't matter.

Food is not the best, but it's not the worst either.

I've noticed they've changed their menu a tad as well. Not a big change but an item or two have been taken out and been replaced with another item.

Just get something without red sauce.....like a cream based sauce or a meat dish!

We ate there once and IMHO it really wasn't that bad. Was it the best meal ever, no, but nothing like the horror stories on here. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant itself is cute.

Yes, the regular food is generally bland and unappetizing. You can, fortunately, avoid that pitfall and enjoy the charming atmosphere and good service.

I've had lunch there with a window view of the parade if I can recall correctly. Keep in mind it will be an obstructed view, so if you're okay with that then Tony's sounds like a good idea.

Honestly i find the atmosphere at Tony's cold and uninviting. Im not a fan at all...and I love Lady/Tramp. If youre on the patio, you still might not see the parade that well due to the folks standing on the sidewalk in front of you. Good luck!

You'll find the negative reviews on DIS for just about anything are ridiculously exaggerated.

We've eaten there 4 or 5 times since 2008, with the last time being Dec. 2016. It's always been ok for us.

DW likes the place and always wants to eat there every trip. I wouldn't pick it if it were just up to me, but I don't have a problem eating there.

I find the food to be "ok" and the service to be fine.

We tried Tony's for the first time in March because it was a last minute decision. We were able to make an ADR same day and were even seated outside without even asking. I had spaghetti with meatballs and DH had chicken Parmesan. I thought the spaghetti was just okay, but it wasn't terrible. Considering we wanted a last minute place to sit down and eat we weren't disappointed. The bread before the meal was really good! I wouldn't put it off just because of what other people say.

We like Tony's. In fact, we're eating there twice this trip. The food is on par with, say, Olive Garden. And since we happen to like Olive Garden, Tony's is fine.
I think it’s a good option if you’re not on the dining plan.
