Do they have free wine tastings at the different booths or do you have to pay for a sample?

Do they have the food booths open during the evening EMH?

I am pretty sure you have to pay for the wines at the booths. But I believe there are some tasting "seminars" I'm not sure how those work, but I think those may have free tastings.

I did have a related question, though. Is there extra tables set up around the booths. The festival sounds fun, but I don't enjoy eating standing. Is there extra places to sit, or do you have to just look for a bench, etc???

There are some free tastings - mostly at Innoventions West according to the schedule you can find floating around. There are a few surprises, though. We walked up at just the right time for a free tasting at Australia - five wines, I think in a mini seminar at the booth, and I know there is a beer tasting as well...

$5 dollar single samples to $8 and $20 for multiple samples

Not quite true. There are free food and wine seminars, and there are
booths that have prices and menu boards.

Free: Look in the Festival Guide (you can pick it up at the Welcome Center,
or at locations that sell Festival Merchandise, and at the the booths around
World Showcase.

The free seminars are listed on a daily basis, with scheduled times and
locations. The food demos will be at the Odyssey (between Test Track and
World Showcase), and the wine demos will be at the Festival Center
near Innoventions West (there are two locations, so look at the signs
posted near the Festival Center locations for specifics).

Pay as you go : All of the booths around World Showcase have
sample sized portions of food, with prices clearly stated for the food or
the wine (or even the non-alcoholic drinks some offer). Some booths have
a person stationed as a pre-pay, and they hand coupons for you to
exchange for food or wine. Other booths will take payment directly at
the counter. Most prices are within $2-5 per food sample and some wine
samples might be higher.

I had a great time at this year's festival. Just be sure to give yourself
at least 30 minutes to get in line for the free seminars, as they do fill up
fast.

Some are - If you go into the WS in England there is a free (yes FREE) beer tasting seminar. You have to show up beforehand and get a ticket to go. I think there is only 30 or so given out for each seminar and there is 4 or 5 a day.

We did the free Australian one - it was good (we also did the pay one next to it too - felt well relaxed before lunch!)

Beer - there is also a Samuel Adams one at the American Pavilion, interesting (and free!)

Wine seminars at Innoventions were really interesting - and nice because it was mostly people actually interested in tasting and comparing wines there.
