Food and Wine - Post your events and misses

All I can say is OUCH to my CC bill - we got all that we wanted -

1 signature dinner (Jiko)
3 Regional Dinners (Turkey, Mexico and beer)
4 PFTS
4 F & W pairings (3 Le Cellier, 1 coral reef)
1 Cheese & Wine
1 Food & Wine balance

all on different dates....I showed some restraint actually and am Not going to a big dinner every night of our vacation(s) (But I wanted to!) Jill

No, this is a set menu where the chef and the wine guy work together to show both to their advantage. (I can't spell the offical title for the "wine guy LOL!)

I am on the fence about whether or not to call for the Coral Reef Food and Wine Pairing...any thoughts? Last year I did not do any of the ticketed events and had a ball but am thinking I should do at least one this trip...worth it?

I hope so! I booked it for the 29th, and it sounded yum to me :D

Party for the Senses on 10/28. Didn't want to book anything else, as it's our 3rd year at this event. However, if I could have afforded to go on 10/06, would have booked the event with Bobby and Jamie Deen.

Please let me know your thoughts on the Signature Dinner at Jiko when you get back. We love the restaurant and I would be interested in knowing what this experience is like. Thank you!

PftS on 10/21 here....and that's it for us. And honestly, the 30% increase was an unpleasant surprise. Yes, last year there was one booth offering a very nice high end wine (Caymus), but the majority of the wines offered are in the $10-$15 range retail....a couple a bit higher. I'm not saying that they aren't enjoyable, but I can get a bottle of Little Penquin Shiraz on sale at Publix for $5.99. They had a nice ice wine last year but it ran out very quickly, before most of us who hit dessert would want to sample it.

We did a signature dinner at CG two years ago for $125 and were disappointed in the value....simply not worth the price. Now the prices for those dinners are considerably higher. The exquisite dinners are insanely expensive.....no thanks.....I'll go to V&As instead.

We just got home from an incredible dinner for two at Jiko with a shared app, two entrees, shared dessert, coffee and a lovely bottle of wine for $130...with tip (using DDE)........tough to beat the quality there for that price.

Hey everyone out there going to PFTS on October 21, it would be great to say "Hi" to eachother! I guess we could all wear something lime green or something that has DIS on it! what do you all think? It would be great fun! Helen

Jiko does its own signature wine dinners on the first Thursday of every month (they did not do one for August). I am signed up for one on November 2. It is run by Jiko itself and not through food and wine, so it isn't on the food and wine list.

Just booked Food and Wine Pairing for Nov. 3 at Coral Reef and was told I got the last spot...glad I did not procrastinate any longer!

Could someone post a link or tell me where I can get more detailed info on the PFTS and food and wine pairing events at the Food and Wine Festival?
Thank you,
PT

I checked Disney's site....now there's a thought.....I always come to this site when I need info sometimes I forget Disney has their own site.
