Food and Wine lines?

How are the lines at the f&w counters? usually long?

Wondering because i have our son set to go to Sandcastle Club for a couple hours while my husband and i go to the food festival (we dont drink wine). but i dont want to spend most of our time in lines and nowhere to sit and relax. So i might want to make a reservation somewhere and go in and enjoy a meal.

Just curious i know i overthink everything

If it is a Saturday, especially a Saturday evening and most especially a Saturday with good weather, could get up to 20 minutes or longer per kiosk. I'm not kidding.

There is usually not a lot of seating for the kiosks. Tall tables, yes, but very little seating. If you're looking to sit and not wander, make an ADR somewhere.

Sundays about 10 minutes maybe. More with better weather. I'd say the same for Friday evenings.

Weekdays (Mon-Thurs and Friday mornings), no wait to a couple of minutes, 5 at the most.

You'd probably not find huge lines on a Monday evening. We tend to visit F&WF during non-peak times and have never waited more than a few minutes at any booth. If there happens to be a long line at any one particular booth, just skip it & circle back later.

But, as PP said, there really isn't anywhere to kick back and relax. You have to be into eating on the move in most cases as there are only a few tall tables and they are typically occupied.

If you are into strolling/eating your way around the World Showcase (DH and I do this - we split an item from every booth, so we eat our dinner a bite or two at a time!), go for it! It's a lot of fun and you get to try lots of different items this way.

If you are looking for a dining experience however, just book an ADR somewhere for a sit down meal.

We went the last Sunday (and day) of the F&WF in November 2008. It was dead between 11-12, then it picked up around lunch time then died down again around 1:30-2 p.m. before picking back up for dinner. We got there a little after 11 (and spent the whole day in Epcot) and walked right up to most kiosks. The more popular ones (the ones with more overall crowd pleasing fare like lobster rolls, lasagna, etc.) were about a 15 minute wait. All of them had about a 15-30 minute wait during the more crowded times. We had gone all the way around and sampled almost everything at each kiosk in a little over an hour. But like PP have mentioned since there's nowhere to really sit you're just eating and moving on to the next one. Some of the kiosks are close to benches and those are usually free during the less crowded times.

We have been to just about every single F&W and the lines are ridiculous on Fri afternoon to Sun afternoon because you get all the locals and weekenders. Other than that they are a breeze

Every time we've gone, the lines have been manageable and we are usually there the last week of F&W. I will say, however, that we intentionally visit in the 2 to 4 pm range and so miss the lunch and dinner crowds.

I cancelled the childcare place at the Beach Club and will just do a little snacking with him in the afternoon thats perfect. funny to even think about the lines but i saw some pics and the lines were all really long

I did book our son for the Simba Clubhouse so hubby and i can go have a quiet dinner at Sanaa or Jiko...still undecided. but with all the walking id like to have a nice sit down meal in A/C

A lot of the pictures that are posted get taken the first weekend when the lines are very long & the CM's are still learning what to do. That's why they look really long. They do get like that at times on most weekends like others have already said.
