Food and Wine Festival...

Can someone please give me the basic scoop on this? What do you do exactly? Is it every day or weekends only? This will be the first time we have been there when it's going when we are there in April and just wondering what it's all about.

I didn't go last year but I went the first year they brought it back. Basically they have little booths set up where you can buy different kinds of food and drink, generally more unique than what you find in the rest of the park. There were also tastings and demonstrations. Some were free, some were cheap (we did a beer one and I think it was $15), and some were expensive (I think they involved celebrity chefs). You can sign up for the paid ones ahead of time. I don't recall if it was every day or weekends only.

Along with what Niltiac said, last year they had a special little area for the AP holders. There was a free button (I think), some other AP merchandise and (maybe) a photo op. Nothing major, but if you're there, it might be worth checking it out.

While we don't know if the 2018 Festival will be anything like the 2017 Festival, you can check out the Disney Food Blog's 2017 F&W Festival webpage for a lot of information (booth menus, demo schedules, reviews, etc.). The food booths were open daily (they did not necessarily open with the park - I think most opened mid-morning), and there were daily low cost demos. There were also more expensive demos and special events on the weekends.

Keep an eye on the Food & Wine Festival webpage for more detailed information about this year's festival. So far it only has the dates and some (minimal) information, but they should be adding stuff in the near future.

There was a Sip and Savor pass available for sale to APs last year (and again just recently at the Festival of Holidays). It included 8 voucher tabs you could redeem for food or non-alcoholic drink items from the booths. If used strategically, it offered a small overall savings compared to purchasing items individually.

They added more booths last year so I assume they will have as many if not more this year. It's a nice event. If you've been to F&W at WDW, this is very different. Not nearly as crowded. It's in California Adventure and spread out. Really cute photo ops for AP holders. Ratatouille in your palm, holding gigantic forks and spoons, logo shots.

That's great! We are out of state passholders so we don't often get a chance to take advantage of AP extras!
