I don't see Wild & Wonderful Florida Shrimp on the list. I fell in love with their Mango wine last year.

I have to tell you that the food at the Poland booth was really good & the Goat cheese tart at france was very yummy.

I'm pleased that they are starting to expand their menus to include more vegetarian offerings as well as some less traditional proteins (duck, bison, more lamb).

The Oaklahoma stands are a really nice touch...maybe they will start exploring other states in subsequent festivals? I'd love to see Louisiana, Kentucky, Alaska, Hawaii...the list goes on!

They all sound great, some old favorites and some new ones to try

Can anyone tell me if the free seminars include free tastings? There is a "beers of america" seminar. Am I to assume that it is being held in american adventure?

What about the hostess station with the champagne and wine bar? There was a HUGE line for that last year and I couldn't figure out quite what was going on in there. Anyone know what I'm missing?

TIA

Thanks for the heads up, disprincessjasmine. I've been anxiously awaiting this list--and the lobster rolls from last year are on it! My dh is so happy.

Does anyone remember whether or not there has been official word as to whether you can use DDP snack credits at the F&W Festival booths? I did a search, but didn't find anything. TIA!

When I did the "beers of America", it was an area set aside in the back of
the pavilion, to the right of the American Adventure. The "tent" (for lack of
a better term) is sponsored by Sam Adams, so the tastings were different
varieties of Sam Adams beer. I still have my free bottle opener keychain
they gave away as part of the seminar. :)

I don't know if the seminar will be held in the same place this year, but I'm
just sharing what I've experienced in the past. As for the champagne bar,
I think it's just popular. I don't know if there's anything special about it.

Thanks for the heads up Lori! So can you tell me, was it worth your time? Is it something DH and i should seek out?

Last year I paid to do a wine tasting of Australian wines. It was worth the $7 to try the 4-5 wines but I really don't care for shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon,
which is primarily what Australia produces.

Anyone do a wine tasting (and I dont mean the $100+ classes) that would like to share their experiences??

TIA!

We won't be on the dining plan this trip since we'll only be there for 2 nights :sad1: but I do think we'll go ahead and pick up a disney gift card to make sampling easier. It's got to be easier than dealing with all the change.

Thanks for the list! I am bummed though, the Chocolate Creme Brulee is gone from France. My dd has been dying to try Creme Brulee, and I have been telling her about this in France. Now we'll have to get regular creme brulee somewhere else I guess.

Ok..had to do some research on this before I said anything. I know for a fact that you can get creme brulee at several of the restaurants on site. I've had the maple brulee in Canada and the vanilla at Cinderella's round table. Both FABULOUS. I also know they serve a macadamia nut flavor at one of the dining venues at the Polynesian.

I *thought* i'd heard of it being served in counterservice bakery's but I had to look it up to be sure. In France, the Boulangerie Patisserie (a CS bakery) serves a carmel brulee...according to allearsnet it costs $4. Certainly not "regular" flavor! There are several other bakery's that might offer other flavors.

Maple doesn't thrill me, and we are not eating at Le Cellier or CRT or the Poly, that is why I loved the one in France, plus it was chocolate and awesome.

They do indeed have one at the CS bakery in France, I had it last summer. It was good, but served cold, and I prefer warm. But if we don't get one somewhere else I will get one of those for her to try. I also had one at the Concourse, and we may eat there, and it was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

These days, there's never a shortage of Creme Brulee. It seems to be on every menu as a dessert, kind of like Tiramisu was in the 90s, lol!

I must admit, I wasn't a fan of the chocolate one at F&WF. It was warm and runny, a bit more like chocolate pudding to me. Of course, I only tried it once, so I could have gotten a bad one. I've found the festival booths can be a little bit inconsistant.

In my book, anything FREE is worthwhile. There should be another beer tasting for International beers, but I don't know if they'll move it to the new Festival Welcome Center they're modifying at the former Wonders of Life, or keep it at the Rose and Crown terrace.

Pick up a Festival Guide that details the times and locations of the free food and wine seminars. Because they are popular, it's often best to arrive 20-30 minutes early (or closer to 40 minutes early on weekends) to get a seat. Space is limited and the early birds get the samples. ;)

A Freap after my own heart! :lmao:

So they'll be using the wonders of life pavillion eh? what a great idea. So I wonder what they'll do with the former area used for the welcome center? Something interesting I hope! By the way, what was that area called? Was it part of the innoventions? It seemed more like a back door behind Spaceship earth. Sheesh..my memory is foggy.

Lori, where are you getting all this great info? Hook a dis-er up! LoL
