I'm just wondering if anyone that has been to the food and wine festival could tell me what it's all about. We've always JUST missed it by a day or two. This year we're going later and I think we may make it!! Anyone have any info? What exactly do they do? I'm starved for info so anything you can tell me would be wonderful! Thanks in advance!!!

Various food/wine/beer kiosks are set up throughout the World Showcase and for a nominal price ($1.50-3.50) you can sample an appetizer at the booths of your choice. For slightly more, you can sample a small glass of wine.

There are also numerous special events, such as wine tastings, tea tastings, cooking seminars, etc. that are free (prepare to come to the event very early and stand in line for a long time!)

Finally, there are a variety of ticketed events such as food and wine pairings at restaurants, that generally sell out very quickly despite being fairly pricey.
Oh yeah, and there are fun retro concerts every night (DH and I saw Cool and the Gang 2 years in a row and Three Dog Night the year previous).

DH and I did a free tea tasting last year and really enjoyed it, but generally we are happy to just make the rounds of the World Showcase, sampling various ethnic food and wines. It's really a blast, and definitely a "festival" atmosphere.

Thank you so much for the info and link! I truly appreciate it. Sounds like a fun time!!

I love going and just walking around WS trying all of the different foods. I have never done any of the hard ticket events, and I have really enjoyed the F&W just the same. Check out the eat to the beat concerts, it is really fun!

ok I have been reading all these posts about the Fand W festival and I cant wait to go, but dont ya think it would be better to pay one price and get like a passport to try foods instead of paying at each station? I think I should put it in a suggestion box somewhere! I mean imagine it if you know you only want to try a few foods and wines say 6 you pay a portion if you know you want it all, I know I want it all (evil laugh), you pay one price at the beginning get a passport and they stamp it when you get your samples! Am I smart or has this already been done?

We went last year, and I'm booking to go again this year!!

We did the dining plan, and will again - - we were able to use the snack credits at the Food Booths set up around the World showcase - way cool!!

We did a couple of "WINE flights" we did Australia, and we did Spain... very informative imo - but I still like the wine flight inside the France Pavillion, sorry I dont remember how much it was - I do know that WDW will sell bottles of the wines offered at that big area/room/pavillion in the middle of Epcot before you cross over to the world showcase - :rotfl2: sorry that wasnt very descriptive!!!
