We have never been due to work restraints etc.

However in looking at the prices of the Special Events, how does everyone handle the No Refunds, No Cancellation policy.

We have elderly parents in our family and work is never a given, I am not sure I can just blow hundreds of dollars if we have to change our plans.

answered this in the other thread. These are not refundable events. Disney is very clear when you book them that there's no cancellation and no refunds. You could ask for a refund if you can't attend during an emergency but there are no guarantees.

The events aren't transferable either, so if you found someone to attend the event in your stead they would have to check in as you...right now I can't remember if they check ID or not. The only name they have on their list is that of the person who booked the event, they don't have the names of anyone who is attending with you.

If there is reason to think you might not make the events I wouldn't book them. You can try and book some when you are at WDW.

Thanks Nala, I just wondered if others had ever had an emergency cancel.

Our lives are just so uncertain right now I don't think I can just chunk hundreds of dollars if something happened.

At least with concert tickets and such you can sell them.

Maybe someone else will remember if they require ID to check in. I remember having to give ID for prebooked seminar tickets but I am not sure about the events.

We booked 3D Desserts. $45 a person (for DH & me). It something happens and we can't go -- I guess we bite it.
