Hey guys, I've never been to the food and wine festival at Epcot before and it starts the day I'm due to fly out. Can anyone give advice on whether it would be worthwhile going on the day I fly out? Id be there for rope drop and would need to leave about 1pm. Thanks!

As much as I love F&W I would have to say no, it isn't worth it. The WS doesn't open until 11am, therefore the F&W kiosks don't open until 11am. If food isn't the main attraction for you, you could certainly go at RD to check out the festival's welcome center and visit just a country or two once WS opens!

You'll be fine. go and have lunch for a couple of hours.

How much does it cost to attend the F&W ?

A few things (like the concerts) are at no cost beyond your Epcot admission. For the food and beverages, you pay as you go, so what it will cost depends on how much you eat. Each sample of food will cost between $3-8 and each alcoholic drink between $4-12.

Special events or demonstrations have to be booked and paid for ahead of time.

Too bad they sell a special pass for that, so you can sample as much as you want and don't feel like you are being nickled and dimed.

Hi all-

On our first trip to WDW last September, DH and I stumbled upon the festival. It turned out to be a soft opening (about 2 days before the ads) and it intrigued us enough to try it on our next trip.

For those of you who have gone in the past, does the festival close per the advertised dates? We would rather go in November but trying to get there prior to mid-month may not happen. We are shooting for the week before Thanksgiving but I think we miss the festival but get the beginning of the holiday decorations.

Just curious if the festival food booths linger a day or two longer...thanks!

I missed that pass when we went in October. We're going back later this year (Oct '14) so will have to keep an eye out for it this time. Granted we aren't big eaters so only need a couple of stops for food. The alcohol is a different story!

It depends on how many days you're there for. I would assume at least five, so adding on another day, even for just a few hours may not be a bad deal for an extra $10 or so. You won't get to try a whole lot, but it may be enough to whet your appetite to plan a stay centered around the festival. On the other hand, if adding the extra day would be a sizable price increase, I wouldn't bother.

They don't sell any such type of pass (never have.)

I'm assuming the previous poster meant to write "Too bad they DON"T sell a special pass."

The 2014 festival will not continue past November 10.
