Food allergy, under 3 will they charge me?

DS (22 months time of trip) is allergic to treenuts/peanuts and eggs. At places that are buffet or family style I will most likely need special stuff made for him will they charge extra for that? For example breakfast at ohana he would need egg free waffles made and Garden Grill he will need something made, will they charge me for that? It's no big deal I am just curious.

They probably will. Under three only is free if they share off of their parents plate or buffet.

Although you could have it made for "you" and have your child share, I suppose.

It's probably going to depend on where you go. When we went with dd at 23 months we had to pay for her food at a couple places. We ate at Chef Mickey's, Ohana Friends Breakfast and each time the chefs came out and talked with us and fixed her's seperate. I will say we had a lot more things to avoid and there were only a few things she could eat. When we ate at the rest. at the Cont we had to pay something like $4 for her pasta.
We ate at Tutto at Epcot and it was awful, def not food allergy friendly. The chef either didn't understand or didn't care and kept bringing her pasta out covered in cheese. She was allergic to dairy. I finally pulled out her epi pen and told him if she ate it we would have to call an ambulance. We gave up and she had to eat her cereal bar and some crackers. They still charged us over $15 for her meal she couldn't eat. It honestly wasn't worth the fight no to.
Last time she was on the DDP so her and ds split her meals. I can say we really got our money's worth since she has fa's she ate a lot of salmon and steak.

At fixed price restaurants that are buffets or served family style like the ones you've mentioned, I would think that they would make the allergy safe food for your under 3 year old at no extra cost. Any other child could eat all they want for free off these restaurants. Kids who are 9 years old are charged as 9 year olds and kids who are 10 are charged as 10 year olds regardless of allergies so a 2 year old should be charged as a 2 year old regardless of allergies.

We just got back from WDW on August 22. My DD is 2 years old and a T1 Diabetic. We made some special requests at Crystal Palace and O'Hana. We did not get charged for her meal at either place and I would have to say that the Chef at O'Hana was AWESOME and super accomodating! She cooked my daughter meat with no marinade, plain veggies, and even offered to make her a special desert with sugar free toppings! And we weren't charged a cent. So I would say that at a buffet, no, you would not be charged. If you were to order a seperate kids meal at any restaurant, special dietary request or not, you would obviously be charged for the meal.

we were not charged for something different for my youngest if it was a buffet or farmily style restaurant that under 3 are free.

with sit down regular menu, I would have them make one of my other 2 sons meals safe so he could share (he turned 1 on our last trip).

my daughter has a tree nut/peanut allergy. We have it noted on our dinning reservations. The Chef always comes out and talks to us. They give us our choices and the food has always been wonderful. They have never charged extra for this. Deserts are usually pretty limited but I will never forget the night at Ohanas when the Chef made her a brownie sundae (prepackaged nut free brownie). The desert was on a skewer and about a foot tall ..layers of brownie, bananas, and vanilla ice cream with nut free fudge and cherries. It was fantastic and if you could have seen the look on her face...Disney magic for sure. She is not use to being able to eat these kinds of deserts so it was a treat. I guess every Chef is different but we have had really good luck so far.
