My son is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Does anyone know if the chocolate chip cookies that are offered throughout Disney World are tree nut and peanut free. Do they make them on equipment that processes nuts?:confused3

I am interested in this reply too. Although my son also has egg and dairy allergies too. I am hoping to find some desserts he can have!

WDW is actually very accomodating and allergy-friendly in general.

The common cookies and other items are probably not to be considered safe, just because they may be prepared or stored next to nut items. However, there are readily-available nut-free packaged baked goods all over the place. A friend's son had several of the nut-free brownies from the Main Street Bakery. There are prepackaged (sealed) nut-free and gluten-free items all over the place.

There is a new Babycakes location in Downtown Disney, but they will no longer claim to be nut free since coconuts were classified as tree nuts, and they use coconut and coconut oil.

We traveled with a GFDF kid several years ago, and he was fine - they will work with that one pretty easily, he got GFDF pizza and several other things in various places. Dessert was, naturally, a little harder for him but he did ok.

You can email specialdiets@disneyworld.com, and they will send you ingredient information, restaurant guides, and all kinds of menu information. If you are eating TS, you can have your allergy noted on your reservation and one of the chefs will walk you through the menus to make sure you are safe. Most TS can provide tapioca bread/buns and rice pasta, if necessary, and the chefs can also give you a safe/not-safe tour of the buffet if it's a buffet location.

I'm allergic to tree nuts, peanuts, and dairy and Disney does a good job if you contact Speical Diets they will send you a list of what food options are availabe, where at WDW to get it, and what vendors they currently use so you can check ingredient lisitings before you visit. I have e-mailed several of the vendors directly and they have gotten back to me with a response within two weeks.

my son is also peanut/tree nut allergic and while the cookies made in and sold all over disney world are not safe, they do offer an alternative... they have two brands (divvies and fresh meadow) which are prepackaged and safe...

we were able to find them at some of the stores (resort gift shop, main street bakery) but we did not have the best of luck finding them at counter service places (we took the fruit/chips/yogurt/jello as our desserts there)

however! almost every table service had them and many chefs offered to make ice cream creations with them, or give us one or two to take to go...
