I made a reservation for Crystal Palace using Disney's website. One of the things asked was whether there were any food allergies and the type. With buffet, we normally just avoid those dishes with tree nuts (fairly easy to do). In any case I did check the appropriate box for tree nut allergies (DGD). Will that mean that someone will alert us to which dishes might have tree nut?

Be sure to remind your server and ask to speak to the Chef, they are happy to come out and talk with you. That goes for all the Restaurants at Disney, Table Service and Counter Service

Last time we did it, the chef came out and gave me a "tour" of the buffet. He showed me which items contained nuts and which contained cross contamination risks. It took a while for the CP chef to come out (in fact, this was the only meal where I remembered a bit of a wait), but he was great about everything. :goodvibes

This exactly! We did both CP and CM on our last trip with ds who has weird allergies. In both locations, a chef came out and personally walked us down the buffet lines pointing out specific things he couldn't have. If there was something he could make to substitute for ds, he offered to make it. Wonderful, wonderful experience in both locations.

Unlike the pp, though, we had NO wait at either location for a chef though. I'm sure it just depends on the time of day and what's going on in the kitchen!

For more information, you can always head over to the Disabilities Board.. there is a lot of information there!

Definitely remind you waiter! The chef will come out and explain everything to you. You can also do this at any other restaurant (both TS and CS) at WDW. :goodvibes

I would suggest going to the disABILITIES Forum and look at Post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs. There is a large section in that post dealing with special dietary needs, as well as many related links. You can get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs by following the link in my signature.

This is a very common topic of discussion in the disABILITIES Forum.
