I'm trying to figure out how to get fonts on my computer. I read to save it to my c drive and then to fonts. I did that and it's not showing up. I'd like it in my Adobe Photoshop program. Any suggestions???

If you have Vista, you will download the fonts. Usually they are in a compressed (.zip) format. Decompress (unzip or extract) them to a location you know how to find. Then go to start>control panel>fonts. In the fonts list, right click and say install font. The browse box will open and you can browse out to where your font is. You can do several fonts at one time if you want. Finally, select install now or install font, something like that and they will go into your fonts list. If you already have photoshop open, you need to close it and reopen for the list to be updated.
In XP I extract the font to my Windows>Fonts folder then goto the Fonts folder and open the font. This seems to "activate" the font and then it shows on the fonts list. This even works if the program is open. Not usre why though.
Thanks to all of you. I think I followed everyone's instructions and some how it is magically working. I spent all day trying to figure this out yesterday. Today with help it took less than 5 minutes.
