Hello! I am a fairly new scrapbooker. I have a disc of fonts, die cuts, etc. I was working with it yesterday and some of the letters and quotes look really cute until I print them off. When you print off fonts, do you use regular computer paper, or do you use colored or something else? When I printed them off on my regular paper, they just didn't look that special. Any advice on how you use these would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!:)

When I do use my computer I only print onto acid free paper and card stock. As an example, I am finishing a set of photos from a trip my son took to New Mexico. He had been pretty good about keeping a trail journal and when he left off actually writing he gave me lots of information when he first came home which we put into journal form.

I then formatted that into an old west looking sort of font in a dark brown color which I printed out onto a tan card stock. When I cut the bits of journaling apart to place with the appropriate photos I used a deckle edge scissors to add to that sort of rugged look.

Sometimes it is the combination of elements that either makes things "work" or not.

I knew I should have tried something different.:) I can be creatively challenged, so sometimes something that seems very obvious, throws me through a loop. Thanks for the help!:wave2:

Another suggestion is to print in bold. Also, If you can set your print quality on your printer, set it to the best you can. If you are really fast, you can sprinkle clear embossing powder on the ink and emboss it for a raised shiny look. This doesn't work with all paper and all computers. You have to have a paper that doesn't absorb the ink to fast.

Have fun experimenting
