Fondue question...

How could i keep fondue warm enough to serve without a fondue pot or a crockpot?

i would love to use a crockpot but am worried about my cousins tripping over the cord.

Don't know how you'd do it without the fondue pot or crockpot. I've done it with a can of sterno under a saucepan, but that didn't work all that well.

You could buy a hot/cold pack and
heat it in the micro, then put it in
a bowl or pan that is slightly larger
than the container you'll have the fondue
sauce in, placing that container on top of the heat pack.
Or if you have it in a bowl you could bend
the heat pack(s) around it?
This is basically what those heat carriers do,
I have one which made me think of it.

I have a corning wear fondue pot that works like this:

corning wear bowl that you heat the food in the microwave in and then you sit it on a little rack over a votive candle that keeps the food warm. If you could find something to use to sit the pot on over the candle that wouldn't burn, you could use this method.

Mine came with a metel rack that the dish sits on and a candle sits under it. It really works well because we use it and the food stays hot after you heat it in the microwave.

I don't know how you could keep fondue got enough with a warmer candle. If you don't want to use an electric warmer, there are flame warmed fondue makers that use sterno or anouther gel fuel. To keep the heat consistant, you really need electric heat with a thermostat. Maybe move the table against the wall so that the cord isn't in the path way?

That show is from his first season ('99) and is mostly responsible for my two fondue pots! We love fondue, lol.
