Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

the animation drawing had to be one of my favorite things to do. There is just soooo much to do at Disney. People just don't get it

We had two more things to accomplish over at DHS before we called it a day. We needed to ride RnRC, that was first- we rode once on the FP line, and then twice more Single rider. Single rider (on this day) was much faster than FP.

While we waited for our first ride, I chatted with a retired Army man who was waiting by himself. You can see him in the first pic seated next to me, taking his glasses off-

IMG_3496.jpg

He had no idea about the single rider line, and so we filled him in- it was GREAT for him, ESPECIALLY because he was alone. Wow, was he ever grateful for THAT little tip!

Two more rides for all of us-

IMG_3497.jpg

Love this one-

IMG_3498.jpg

The next thing we did was not-

IMG_3499.jpg

Timmy isn't crazy about it, and I can do it, but not running to. Instead, I was running to THIS-

IMG_3501.jpg

OK, actually, I was running to a PB cupcake, which is my all-time fave, but...they were out! This was the red velvet- very good, but I still wish they would have had that PB one. I like that the PB one is kind of filled, while this is just straight cake with frosting and candy on top-

IMG_3504.jpg

Tyler DID get his fave-

IMG_3500.jpg

A marble CC.

IMG_3506.jpg

And Timmy chose some humungo cookies for his treat-

IMG_3502.jpg

Then it was back to the boat, with a brief stop for a pic-

IMG_3507.jpg

IMG_3510.jpg

At BCV, I noticed the Mermaid on the bow of the ship. Isn't she pretty? I wonder what she's trying to say....

IMG_3512.jpg

Probably head back to your villa, your family is freakin exhausted!

Up next- my quickie trip to F&W-

Saw this on the Disney Parks Blog this weekend and it made me think of you :)

How to make the Jalapeno Rita from LaCava!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzuZ9LxSLhc&feature=uploademail

Love it! Thanks!! We actually had Bulmaro teach us the first year- we make them at home- well, not often, but on special occasions. Joan makes the avocado one, too!

:)

Nice weekend read.

Thanks Marisa!:)

Sorry Ellen! I am way behind again on my dising. As always, still enjoying your report and sad it is almost over. A few comments:

While this may not have bee your best trip with Sean it still sounds like you are all dealing with everything well and having a good time. Glad he enjoyed 50"s PT.

I know what you mean about sleeping in on the last day. We did that back in December when we were at VWL and it was great and we still were able to do most of what we wanted. Unfortunately we missed our ADR at 50's PT, so that will have to be saved for another trip.

Hope you got all your November ADRs done. We booked a late October trip at BLT at just over six months so we did not have a lot of time to think about ADRs. I did find it much easier to get what I wanted now that they require a cc deposit.

Your get away with Pods looked wonderful and I love your bracelet.

Keep your trip reports coming. I always love reading them!

Please don't feel bad about not being around- my life has been waaaaay too busy this year, and I have not been around the DIS as much either.

I did get my November ADRs done- I booked some the day we were leaving for the Dream while I was waiting to be seated at Kouzzina, Raglan Road I did in person when we got off the ship (because it was not allowed due to the # of people with DVC or DD) and the rest I figured out when I got home. It's going to be a BIG trip with a ton of food porn, that's for sure!

Yea, many people don't get it. I can't tell you how many times I heard "why would you go on the Disney cruise or go to Disney wiithout kids?" SHEESH. They just have no clue how much FUN it is to be a grown up in Disney. :dance3:

Timmy's donald duck - :thumbsup2 Awesome! :rotfl:

So nice when Sean is happy and smiling in his pictures! What a great morning/afternoon.

I am SO getting one of those cupcakes this summer. Craving one right now.

Pods doing push ups - priceless.

So you're doing the family thing too in November. I am so curious to see how my June family trip goes. 5 nights at the treehouse. So much drama to get them to commit, but they are all signed up now. And they just got their planning video so they are starting to get very excited.

I think your plan to keep Sean home from Aunt Irma? is probably good. If she's 97 it probably is a little overwhelming for her.

I really can't wait to hear about the girl's trip. I am anticipating non stop fun and mayhem!

Too funny- I was posting on yours while you were posting on mine!

I HATE drama. I hope the family does not carry it over to the treehouse for you.

Yea, we will probably keep Sean away from Irma this time- unless he continues to improve with the buspar. It does seem to be helping- I was able to attend the Mother's Day dinner with him at school this year, and that's a BIG improvement over last year, when we couldn't even get him into the room it was being held in. Time will tell....

And yes, there was plenty of fun and mayhem on this last trip- and the Dream was amazing!! :goodvibes

an Im singing it again LOL It will be stuck in my head all day now

hello contain all loose articals prior to the ride begining.. He is not planning accordingly for a military man :rotfl:

Did you tell him the only way they let you in though is if he sings the song :lmao:

The next thing we did was not-

UGG my kids dont like it either.. Im just going to ditch them when we go LOL yes Im totally mean like that

And Timmy chose some humungo cookies for his treat-
omg they all look great.

she's probably saying hurry up and post your DISMoms trip report your loyal groupies are waiting:rolleyes1

Up next- my quickie trip to F&W-

ohhh just by yourself.. Thats a way to relexe after a long trip enjoying the park in peace IMO!

Welcome back, Ellen!

I love the new updates .... so sorry Sean wouldn't ride TSM, but you got some great pics walking around.
And the drawings are AWESOME!!!! Timmy's really rocks! We have never done that - I cannot draw a straight line :lmao: let alone a character.
You were lucky to be able to ride RnR so often! :thumbsup2 FP and single rider is a good strategy!
So sorry about the Peanut butter cupcake - it really is a downer when our favourites are not available.

Cannot wait for your DISmoms report! REALLY looking forward to it! :goodvibes

 I didn't except your next "must do" to be cupcakes, but I can understand why! ::yes:: We have done the Butterfinger there, I think I need to try the peanut butter one, it sounds delicious!

I do so want to do the drawing thing. Didn't get to do it this last trip because of th eGDs.

Glad ot hear that Sean is doing better, that certainly makes things easier for the family.

TOT is one of our favorites, RRC not so much. Can't do any rides that goes upside down, makes us sick.

She's back! Hooray updates!

Love Timmy's Donald - that is better than what mine would be!

Tyler looks so much more grown up since your cruise TR!

Sean looks like he's just loving life with those interactives. Fun!

Can't wait to see how it goes!

GLad to see you updated! I love your animation academy drawings! That's another thing on my list for my next trip! I am resigned to the fact that it will not be until 2014 but I am making my "must do list" now.

Love the Cupcakes! I want to try the Red Velvet one but I don't know if I will be able to resist the Butterfinger one...

Yea- it was kind of nice! And I SHOULD make them sing the single rider song! :rotfl2:

Well, I'm no artist either, and I can do it- you should really give it a try, it's AMAZING what you come out of there with!

 I didn't except your next "must do" to be cupcakes, but I can understand why! ::yes:: We have done the Butterfinger there, I think I need to try the peanut butter one, it sounds delicious!

Can't wait to read about your first cruise!!

I'm not very good on ToT- well, I'm sure I'm pretty amusing for anyone watching me, tho- :scared1:

Thanks! Tyler is becoming an adult SO FAST. It is seriously making my head spin, between all three of them!

You should try them BOTH!! :thumbsup2

Well....since it seems some people just don't have the same stamina as some other people in Disney, my family stayed in the villa watching a game while I went off by myself to peruse F&W (which we had not partaked in at all on this trip). So...off I went-

IMG_3513.jpg

IMG_3514.jpg

And my first stop was something I could really have anytime, but I wanted one THIS time, all the same! A citron Slushie-

IMG_3515.jpg

Then it was time to hit some food! I tried to limit myself to some Must Dos that I read read about on here as being well received. First was New Zealand- Seared scallop with Kumara-Red Curry Puree and apple radish salad-

IMG_3516.jpg

Next was Singapore- Shrimpcake on Sugarcane Skewer with Singapore Noodles-

IMG_3517.jpg

I do remember enjoying both of those. Next, I stopped at Hops & Barley in the USA- for Pumpkin Mousse with Ocean Spray Craisins and Orange Sauce-

IMG_3519.jpg

THAT was AMAZING!!!! :cheer2: I enjoyed it so much, in fact, I prepared it myself for dessert at a friend's house on Thanksgiving. It is TDF, if you enjoy pumpkin at ALL. In case you are interested, here is a link to the recipe- http://www.oceanspray.com/Recipes/C...usse-Trifle-with-Cranberries-and-Apricot.aspx. Come to think of it, I made this again another time. YUMMMMMM!!

My next stop was in Poland for Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi with Carmelized Onions and sour cream-

IMG_3520.jpg

I am half Hungarian, so Kielbasa is near and dear to me- this was all delicious!

Next was China for Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan Noodles-

IMG_3521.jpg

Wow, am I a pig, or what?? :rotfl: At this point, I was you-know-where on my little solo trip around the world, so I went to say hi to my favorite Mexican friend, Bulmaro-

IMG_3522.jpg

So, I walk into the Ditch and yell "Hey! Hola Bulmaro!" to which he replies-

"Hey! Where have you been?!"

Ummm...I live in Nj? And it's a little hard for me to get here for happy hour on Fridays (even though I do my BEST, it just a little too much of a hike, even for the world's best Rita)?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hellloooooooo, Rita!

IMG_3523.jpg

I told him I'd be back in May with the Moms (although it turned out we barely saw him that day- it was Cinco de Mayo- no standing at the bar, Amigo!), and went out-

IMG_3525.jpg

To stuff 2 more things into my face- and I was already full- but, I REALLY wanted to try them, so I stuffed them in-

In Mexico, a Rib Eye taco-

IMG_3526.jpg

And in Hawaii, I took a pic of the tuna poke- so this was Tuna Poke with seaweed salad and lotus chip-

IMG_3530.jpg

And then this was the straw that broke the camel's back- or pig's belly (me being said pig)- also in Hawaii, Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole pineapple chutney and spicy mayonnaise-

IMG_3531.jpg

Ireally wanted to try it, because in planning Hawaii, I kept on seeing Kalua Pork EVERYWHERE...but, UGH. That one I can STILL taste- it was very good, it was just the slider too far, ya know?

I waddled over to Canada, and spent a little time checking out Off Kilter-

IMG_3534.jpg

Before rejoining my family at Rose & Crown for WHAT???? :scared1: DINNER???!!!! :scared:

Next!

In my best (which is not so good) Michael Jackson voice, "I'll be there". Always love your TR's. I've started a new one and hope it can be half as good as yours. :thumbsup2

I know it's none of my business, but just wanted to make a suggestion - we have alot of drama with one of the DDIL's. We were planning either a treehouse villa or 2 bdrm and studio for next Summer. After a short visit this week, the other DS and myself have decided that 3 separate studios are in order, and will save points anyway. I think it will save the family! :rolleyes1

MMM thanks for the food porn! Everything looks delish, and i can't stand fish or seafood! I wish I did, but it's a rubbery texture thing. :confused3

Alone time?? What's that! Enjoy it and of course shop till you drop!
