Follow me as I snack around F&W! Complete 12/3: Wrap-up, thoughts on QSDP and F&W

I can't wait to read your reviews. I only got to eat about 15 or so food booth things, and didn't hit all the booths, so I'll live vicariously through you.:goodvibes The best food booth item I got was the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree at the Buenos Aires booth.:cloud9: You have to try it!

I don't think we have anything from Buenos Aires on our list. I think I assume Buenos Aires=spicy, and I can't really handle spice! Was it spicy?

That was my favorite dish from last year, glad to hear it's good again this year!:thumbsup2

Guess I have to try it!

YUM YUM!!! :thumbsup2

Doesn't it sound divine?!

9 days! :banana::banana:

Oo...I also just realized I forgot to mention that we've already pre-booked one of the $8 seminars. We're doing the 5:30 Champagne Seminar on Saturday :yay:

We booked the same seminar at noon on that day - I hope it's a good one! :thumbsup2

I'm here now! I joined up to follow you on Twitter too. It's a lot of fun to Twitter your where-abouts while at WDW. Your BF can Tweet pics with the iPhone too, right?

Your plans look like another fun, busy trip! We took a similar theory for F&W last year, anything over about $4=snack credit, otherwise OOP. It worked pretty well. The QSDP is perfect for the F&WF! :thumbsup2

HI !
Just found your report and am excited to read your comments.
We just got back on Sunday and I can comment on some of your choices and questions.

Greece - chicken souvlaki was very good

Thailand - Chicken and coconut soup was our favorite soup, and in our top three overall

S Africa - Mealie soup w/ crabmeat was mostly corn we only ate a few bites. Although the beef tenderloin is getting rave review we didn't like the cut of meat and didn't finish it either

Morocco - We didn't have anything from Morocco but someone said they'd thrown away most of the Kefta, don't remember whos review that was.

Canada - Really liked the chicken sausage but it was spicy.

Germany - I was not even going to try the spaetzle this year but DH wanted it, he scarfed it down but I thought it was just okay, I'm with you that's not spatzle. If you're going to pay OOP for the Apple strudel it's cheaper at the CS place.

France - Loved the short ribs it was #1 on our top 3 list, but it does have a lot of potatoes.

San Juan - Did not get the guava cookie but they're really small

Ireland - Cheese at the Mouse Catch is much better than in Ireland. We were too full when we got there and now I really regret not getting the Fisherman's pie

The Edy's flavorhood only has three flavors, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Mint Choc, chip

Argentina - beef skewers with chimichurri were #3 on our top three

Hope there's something here that's helpful.
Have a wonderful trip !
Lynn

Oh yes, there will be lots of pictures! I told him that I would be taking over his iPhone and he said, "well, what if I want to tweet too?" So you know, if there are any gag-worthy tweets like, "Wow, my boyfriend just gets more handsome every time I look at him." Guess who posted it! :rotfl: He's already said he'll do it, I don't doubt that he will...

S Africa - Mealie soup w/ crabmeat was mostly corn we only ate a few bites. Although the beef tenderloin is getting rave review we didn't like the cut of meat and didn't finish it either I've started to see some reviews of the tenderloin like that, it makes me sad. Oh well. Thanks for the info on the Mealie soup. Maybe we'll skip it...more room for sweets! :woohoo:

Morocco - We didn't have anything from Morocco but someone said they'd thrown away most of the Kefta, don't remember whos review that was. Thanks. I'll have to search for it.

Canada - Really liked the chicken sausage but it was spicy.

I noticed that. It's $3.59 for the strudel at Sommerfest, but $5 at the kiosk. I ain't no dummy  And considering I'll probably skip the spaetzle and sausage (I'm very disappointed there's no sauerkraut!) there's no need to stand in the long line that usually forms in Germany!

France - Loved the short ribs it was #1 on our top 3 list, but it does have a lot of potatoes. I'll have to give it a try then, at least a bite and then my boyfriend can finish the rest!

San Juan - Did not get the guava cookie but they're really small

Ireland - Cheese at the Mouse Catch is much better than in Ireland. We were too full when we got there and now I really regret not getting the Fisherman's pie I think I'm definitely going to stick with the Mousecatch and give the pie a try!

The Edy's flavorhood only has three flavors, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Mint Choc, chip I can buy these at home, seems silly to get it here...especially when so many other treats are available...

Argentina - beef skewers with chimichurri were #3 on our top three

Thanks! It was very helpful! I think I'm also going to add the Bread Pudding from Lousiana to our list...I've discovered I like bread pudding. I don't know how I feel about pralines though...I guess I'll find out!

Hurray for single digits!!!!

I really enjoy the rating systems that everyone has going. I was toying with the idea, but I think I've come up with a decent one, so I'm going to go ahead and steal TDCNala's fabulous idea (such a trend-setter, that one!)

I've taken the rascal Meeko from Pocahontas and used him as my muse. We all know how much he enjoys food, so I thought he'd make a good critic. I used to have a Meeko plush when I was little. Wish I still had him, I think it would have added something to the review ;)

The highest possible rating will be this:

In other words, please, leave me here for the rest of the day as I have no desire to do anything besides eat this food and savor every bite.

Next we have:

Or: stuff your face good. No need for seconds, I'll have two helpings now.

Middle of the road:

This is a delight, but I'll settle for just one serving, thanks.

Falling below the line:

Hmmm, I seem to be distracted by something else in the vicinity... Nothing really wrong with the food, but I'm more interested in what's going on around me.

Hopefully we won't see this one:

You can't fool the raccoon, you can't fool me. This isn't food.

I found a picture of the Lamington on Disneyeveryday.com and it doesn't come close to looking like the Lamington on Wikipedia. Hmmm, that might be coming off the list... It's apparently supposed to be really finely shaved coconut, not shredded coconut like Disney's doing. Bummer.

I am loving your dining review ratings! Everyone is jumping on that bandwagon...I may need to do that for my next one but mine will be pics of Todd's various expressions as he eats things ha ha!

Well, you wouldn't be the first one to adapt TDC Nala's pictoral ratings system. I believe I have that honor. :rotfl2: I think you might be the third.

I think Meeko's a good choice. Since raccoons are all about food anyway. ;)

:rotfl: That might be the best rating system yet.

I might be the 4th. disneyfav4ever has a Ratatouille one going. It's adorable. And I love your Sleeping Beauty one. It's my favorite movie, so I'd do that, but you beat me to it! I thought about villains, and I had some great images for the bottom ratings, but a really hard time with the top ratings...what do you give the best? A Maleficent because she's awesome? Ehhhh, it wasn't working. :sad2:

A happy thought: this time next week, I'll be eating my way around Epcot popcorn::

No, Todd should wear different "hats" for his ratings! :rotfl2:

We'll be at POP too!! Maybe we will see you there! We have the DDP (thank you PIN code!!) so we will be eating our faces off too!!:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Say hi! Don't be shy :goodvibes

I absolutely love the Meeko rating system!:thumbsup2

Thanks!

Well, we're down to 3 days (almost 2!) And very long work days too :guilty: I'll be very happy when Wednesday night gets here!!

My Mom & Dad were at Epcot today for F&W. Apparently they had no problem walking up to San Angel Inn. The restaurants were telling them that any time before 6:30 they could take a few walk ups, but after that they couldn't. They also tried the "ditch." Liked that too. I'll get more info tomorrow :thumbsup2

I'm in. I love your rating system - Meeko is my favorite raccoon :goodvibes

Subbing! Can't wait to read your reviews! My solo trip starts the day after you leave...can't wait!:yay:

Are you getting excited yet??? You are very close! I hope the heat isn't as bad as last week!!!!!
