Fold Up Umbrella Stroller Sold in Parks/Gift Shops

A Maclaren is SO worth it. I bought one just for Disney about a year and a half ago, way after my kids were finished with strollers for everyday use. I bought it because it had a high weight limit and I needed it for an older child-just for the parks. WOW it was so great! I wished I had that stroller l the years when my kids were little. It was easy to push, easy to fold. Anyway YES it's worth it. If I could go back in time I would have bought one years sooner.

I hope you are right about that. I just broke down and bought the Maclaren Techno XLR partially because it is supposed to have extendable handles, partially for the 65lb weight limit meaning DD3 can still ride in it for several more years, and also because when we have another bambino, we can use our existing baby car seat with it. When we pushed DD around the store in one, it was the best handling stroller I've ever seen.

XLR is a great stroller! I also have a Mac Triumph and a Peg Pliko, and they are all fab strollers.

People who think that all strollers are created equally, are absolutely 100% incorrect. Higher end strollers, like Macs and Pegs, have a higher propensity to be made in other countries besides China, so the workmanship is much better, as is the product design. They also have higher weight limits, as they use better materials that can handle approx. 65lbs.

With my strollers, I have spent less than my friends who insisted on Graco, etc., as they have had to replace them many times. I have not had to replace my stollers at all. They can be given away or sold, as they are in great shape, after 2 kids, and approx. 8 - 10 trips to Disney. Can't beat that!

Re: Disney Kolcraft stroller (red/black). It is a better quality umbrella stroller. It is only a bit more at the parks, as opposed to Toys R Us.

Happy stroller shopping, Tiger

Thank you. I thought maybe it was a Disney Theme one. I can just buy one at home now.

Now mind you this is for my great niece, age 1. I have been out of the stroller business for quite some time with my own kids. But I HAVE to know....are the Maclaren's REALLY that much better than say a 50-60.00 price one. I can appreciate "labels" as much as the next high class momma, (lol, kidding!) but is it more than the brand with those? I'd splurge on my great niece if it's worth it!

As a grandmom who took her 14 month grand daughter in 2009, I personally would not use an umbrella type stroller for a younger child. Unless it folds down for them to sleep. If it does not fold down it really is not comfortable for a younger child, assuming you will be spending a lot of time in the parks. Just my opinion.
