All,

Didn't notice a thread on it here yet, so I thought I would share. I just read a rumor over at WDWmagic that Flynn Rider will be leaving the Rapunzel M&G permanently around July 3rd. Additionally, Prince Naveen will be leaving his M&G as well.

Flynn was the highlight of my 3 year old daughter's trip and I am not looking forward to explaining this change to her. To me, Flynn was an integral part of the experience and I suggest we voice our displeasure to Disney if this is true. :sad2:

Oh nooooo! That's so disappointing! We've been lucky enough to do that meet n' greet twice, but both times forgot to ask what was in his satchel...that was on the list of 'must do's' for our October trip...

I don't think that meet n' greet has even been there for a year...:confused3 Why would they do that?

Well, I guess that's one way to take care of that long line.

I was sort of hoping they'd go another direction with it though. I hope it's not true.

Noooooo! :sad1:

DD4 has been looking so forward to meeting Rapunzel and Flynn when we go in September! She is obsessed with them and we're having a Tangled themed birthday party for her this weekend! I hope it's not true!!:sad2:

No no noooooo! Seriously, he was the highlight of our past two trips, and a major reason we even went back for the second trip. Yes people I admit it, I planned a WDW vacation so dd and I could meet Flynn again (that's what I didn't confess to in the confession thread :lmao:).

We were planning a trip for Halloween and all dressing as Tangled characters. If he is gone by then, I don't think we'll go. If anything we would rather visit DL for Halloween to see Jack & Sally.

I suppose that would really cut into the female 29-49 demographic. ;)

That would be very disappointing but I wouldn't put much stock into a random rumor. I would wait until a few more reliable sources report that before giving it much thought.

I definitely hope that's not true! It already irritates me that Jasime is so much easier to find than Aladdin (you know, the guy the movie is named after?). Admittedly, Tangled is titled after Rapunzel, but the story is just as much about Eugene. (In the voiceover at the end, he says he goes back to being called Eugene, so I'll call him that instead of Flynn. :) )

Oh and btw...I really have trouble believing this to be true since WDW is still actively holding auditions for people to be Flynn.

See the post titled "disney character look-alikes"

Well then maybe it's that the 'current' Flynn is leaving and they are looking for a replacement....
It just seems odd that Naveen would be out for so long after the movie is released, but Flynn wouldn't - it's not like they are having a hard time finding people to come to the meet n' greet.

They have more than 1 Flynn....we saw 4 different ones doing greets over the days we were at WDW in May. There was our Flynn (the BEST!), Kansas Flynn (:rotfl: ;) ) and 2 other Flynns I have seen pictured around the web. So I think they are just adding more...HOPEFULLY to make the characters more readily accessible in other parks/locations.

Where are you looking? Aladdin is easily found with Jasmine by the Magic Carpets at MK.:thumbsup2

Oh, and to give Naveen a little love too - he is also awesome. His character is usually pretty silly so even though dd doesn't consider them a fave, she ALWAYS has a great time meeting them because they do a great job interacting with the kids.

I had forgotten about him. :lmao:

That's him in the photo on the Disney casting page. We met him on our recent trip too....I will never think of him as anything other than Kansas Flynn from now on. :lmao:

How can you tell? ;)

Sorry, mods.

LOL...well I am highly familiar with their *faces*
Yes, really.
And dd was SO not impressed that he had blue eyes. Because Flynn has BIG brown eyes...I don't think they cast him well at all.

These guys are pretty accurate, I am afraid this is more than rumor/speculation. Per one of the posters, this has been confirmed with a CM that plays the role of one of the 'princes' at WDW. Said prince is encouraging everyone to write in to keep Flynn and Naveen.

I will still wait for July 3rd to come to see what happens.
They renamed the movie to be gender specific...the ads made it seem like more of an action movie than a princess/love story. Disney wanted to appeal to boys....so WHY would they remove the male character that the boys would actually be interested in seeing? And also continue to cast for Flynn.....doesn't make sense.
Maybe they are doing a trial run to see what happens. Maybe they are removing them (the princes) to make a big deal about their return later on...who knows.
It really makes even less sense since now Eric meets with Ariel, so why yank the boys from some of the other princesses?
