Flynn and MNSSHP?

Please, he is clearly reformed. Did you not see the end of the movie? Hugs made him all better inside, no need for further scoundrelness.

Also: wealth probably didn't hurt to offset his need to supplement his income.
Believe what you want, but I wouldn't want him giving my kids pointers on behavior! Like my nephew needs to "smolder" at age 7. :rotfl:

:earsboy:

I don't remember Disney ever saying that Flynn was being cut because he wasn't in demand. Wasn't the "official spin" that Flynn was being cut in order to focus on Rapunzel due to her popularity? (AKA "We're putting more Rapunzels out there, so we're trading them out for Flynn.") Disney never suggested that Flynn wasn't popular, did they?

:earsboy:

This is correct. Flynn has always been popular, but Rapunzel trumps him, and they decided to make this choice.

It fits with the typical way that the princes are treated. He'll appear at parties and blue moons, and that will be that. :confused3

I know that. I was commenting on the ability to make ANY attraction (including character meet & greets) have shorter waits by making it less than what people really want.

I know that. But you're assuming that "what people really want" is Flynn. I'm saying that, apparently, "what people really wanted" was shorter lines. If that was NOT the case -- and Flynn was the primary driver for that particular meet & greet -- then the demand would have dropped sharply upon his exit.

I don't think she was saying that (and either was I). I think we were both saying that if you remove any part of an attraction or meet and greet you are eliminating someone's reason for being there.

Or maybe people are just "settling". Doesn't mean that's their first preference, just that it's currently the only option.

That's true. But the shorter lines may have also created someone else's reason for being there. Someone who would have never waited in line for Rapunzel AND Flynn may now be thrilled to meet Rapunzel only, with a shorter line.

Disney plays the balance -- they had a lot of complaints about the Rapunzel lines and the lack of meeting time for Rapunzel and so they made the decision to add Rapunzels and subtract Flynns. If the complaints about lines drop off more than the complaints about Flynn come in, then they made the right choice.

That makes sense but from my personal point of view, I'd rather stand in a longer line to see two interacting characters than a shorter line to see just one.

I will be happy to pass along your note. However, I'm not sure that Flynn can be trusted as a baby-sitter, what with his criminal record and all .... ;)

:earsboy:

Oh she is willing to take her chances. I think long days spent gallivanting through forests getting into trouble is right up her alley. :rotfl:

Well, but didn't it? I think it would have taken a miracle to get through the line when he was there in 20 minutes and that is pretty much commonplace now. So they might have beefed up Rapunzel's time but it seems like the demand went away too. I would love to see the official clickers....

This is where we would fall if we weren't going to 2 MNSSHP on our trip in Oct. - we would go, but much preferred the MnG as it was when it very first opened with both Flynn and Rapunzel and the coloring and dancing with the characters. Hard to believe, but there was basically no wait when it first opened...we walked right in without waiting in line....

We were there in mid-December last year. I hadn't seen a single thing on the DIS about there being long waits for the Tangled meet & greet. I casually put it on our "to do" list and didn't give it another thought. Well, thankfully another DISer was there a couple days ahead of us. We had exchanged phone numbers to meet up and she was kind enough to call and give me the low down on what it was really like. YIKES! :scared1: Luckily word had not gotten out, and we were able to get in line around 9:30 for the 10:15 set and were 4th in line.

according to what I heard he will definitely be there...cue Flynn Fanatics...:lmao:....

YES!!! This news made my day!

Can you let them know my 7 year old has volunteered to privately fund one particular Flynn's salary if needed? :rotfl: She's also asked me why we can't hire him to be her babysitter since Disney won't pay him anymore. :thumbsup2
Haha I've never met a Flynn but I'll help. A soon-to-be 20 year old and a 7 year old paying a salary It'd work :lmao: haha I want Flynn for my babysitter too :lmao:

haha It'd be up my alley too! :lmao: Glad to see I'm not alone!

I've been DYING to see Flynn ever since my last trip! It was a spur-of-the-moment, last minute decision to head down, and my family members decided not to go into the parks to offset the cost of plane tickets. I was so disappointed, primarily because I was dying to get my picture with Flynn. And then I find out he was removed before I could go back! This just made my day!

I've never done the M&G's before though- What are they like? How are they different from a "traditional" character line? I don't want to distract from the real topic of this thread, however, so if they are different can someone send me a link to a thread about M&G?

P.S. Who can't wait for Tangled Ever After?!

Are you asking about the M&G for multiple characters? If so, it's not much different than a regular line except instead of one character, it's 3 or more (like the character spot at Epcot where you can meet Mickey and friends). You just move down from one character to the next, usually with a photo pass person for each character.

The Tangled M&G used to have a 'play' element to it - initially it was coloring while waiting for the characters to come out, then the Rapunzel and Flynn came and greeted each child personally, did a little group dance (would have videoed that if I had known we were only get to ever do it once :sad2: ), then you formed a line for pictures and autographs. The second time we went it had been reduced to coloring, a little banter between the characters and CMs and then the line for photos and autographs. Now it seem that it's down to just photos with Rapunzel and Flynn and the rest of it has been taken away.

(And yes....very excited for "Tangled Ever After"...I wish they would just go ahead and make it into a full length feature like they did with Toy Story 2)

They've also doubled the amount of time Rapunzel is available, so it would figure that lines have shortened too. You'd expect lines to shorten if you double the experience, right? I mean ... that's the point. You add more facetime, you shorten lines.

"Shorter lines" doesn't necessarily mean "lack of demand". As you said, you'd need to see the actual number of Guests served.

If they doubled her time I'd expect lines to drop by half. So 2-3 hour waits still going 1 hour or more. Instead we have 20 minute waits (and not always that). Looks like they accomplished both...doubling productivity in the line, and cutting demand.
Again...I'd really like to see the clicker!
And not to stray away...but how did they double her time? Isn't she still out during the same hours as before? I never understood how the "back to back" thing would work since they were almost back to back as it was. One meeting time (say the 9:15) would run until it was almost time for the next group. So the pair would go back behind the gate for a break (what...15, 20 minutes?) then reappear for another 45 minute set.
So did they really DOUBLE her time, or just extend it a little bit? And is the real time saver not that she is out there more, but that alone, she is spending less time per guest than when the both of them were there, and thus moving the line along faster?

Just wanted to confirm this for everyone. Flynn Rider IS at MNSSHP!!!! He's in the Main Street Theater with Rapunzel, Snow White and her prince (who doesn't have a name :confused3) and Cinderella and Prince Charming. I went to two parties, one was last night  The first party I attended (I'm 95% sure it was the second party), the line up was Rapunzel and Flynn, Snow White and The Prince and Cinderella and Prince Charming. Everyone was there pretty much to see Flynn and Rapunzel so the other two pairs were just standing there, waiting for someone to come see them. They solved this by now putting Flynn and Rapunzel last and Cinderella and Charming first (Snow White is still in the middle). I like this better. It works out better because they other two aren't standing awkwardly waiting. They get attention then all eyes go to Flynn and Rapunzel

We would love the opportunity to meet Flynn. My sister and I didn't like Tangled at all and don't really care for Rapunzel either. But Would have definately lined up to meet Flynn. Shame he isn't available anymore, even if it were only every few days so we could meet him once during our trip.
