I'm flying alone (no DH) with DD 18 months in less than 2 weeks. Just trying to think through things so the time in the airport and the flight itself go smoothly. I've got my list of snacks and toys, etc. Anything special I should know about installing her Britax carseat on the plane? I'll use the restroom before we board the plane, but what do you do if you feel the need to use the restroom on the plane...just not go or do you take your tot in with you?

Good luck - you'll do great! There are a couple of flying with toddler threads in here (do a search if you'd like to check them out). As for the bathroom, I go right before we board and hope that I don't need to go again during the flight! If I did have to go, I would take DS with me. Regardless of the safety issue, he would probably get all upset to be left alone and I would feel horrible if I came back to him screaming!

Definately take her with you. My DH wil lbe with me, but I'm afraid if I ahve to go, my DD2 will want to tag along anyways. And then she will think she can just walk the palne, so I am hoping to NOT have to go at all! I usually don't ,but with my luck this will be the time I do! LOL We are not bring our carseat either, but she will sit well usually with a seat belt. We live on a farm and she rides in the feilds in the truck sometimes, and she won't let us drive until EVERYONE has their seat belt on!

Thank you for your tips and the link to install the carseat. Now I'm really nervous because it sounds so complicated...and I'm not sure how to keep my very active DD in one place while I attempt to install the carseat. This should be fun!

By the way, that half twist in the seat belt is VERY important. Don't forget it, or you'll have issues/scraped hands getting the belt undone. It takes forever to get the seat in and out, and you have to put it in the window seat.

I took Fiona with me to the bathroom and let her play with the water and soap.

Also, bring fruit chews for take off and landing to help her equalize ear pressure.

Good luck!
Brandie
