Flying to Orly on Sunday, too late for VEA, help please

I’ve not been around for a while and more importantly not been to DLP all summer but it is getting closer to our Halloween trip now so I am enjoying reading people’s posts about it and seeing the inventive costumes although I don’t think we will be wearing them ourselves. We’ve just booked our Halloween party tickets today so excited about that but also… I’m taking DS on my own this weekend for a surprise birthday Disney trip :yay:. And to compound the excitement on the day, we are going to fly there. He hasn't flown since he was very young so will not be able to remember it at all and has been pointing to planes in the sky and saying, “Me” for a while now as he loves different modes of transport. I should point out that DS is going to be 22 on Sunday but has the mental age of a toddler so we can drop the twenty part of his age! Wish I could drop twenty years off my age too actually…

I am a bit worried about travelling with a “toddler” who towers above me :rolleyes2 on my own plus a suitcase and cabin bag (always rather a lot of stuff to bring related to special needs) and can see him pulling me in all directions. We are flying Southampton to Orly and I will bring books to look at on the plane with him as I think the novelty may not last the whole flight. The big problem I have just realised is that we don’t get in until 20.45 so too late for a VEA shuttle. :worried: Any suggestions for a private shuttle (would be happy to share) as I don’t fancy the RER and all the changes it involves?

Any other tips welcome too please.

Hiya
I would try RS transports as we find them good and have used them to Orly last year. Plus we've always found them to be most reasonably priced. I hope you and your DS have a wonderful trip :)

try and get a quote from suntransfers.com I have booked them for our trip in October and are reasonably priced hun. Have fun though x

rstransports would seem to be significantly cheaper, even for a private shuttle, compared with suntransfer.com.

You may have to email for a price, as often shuttle companies switch to a slightly higher tariff than advertised online, for journeys taking you past 9pm.

Thank you Kiz, Tinkermel and Elaine, lovely to talk to everyone again! I have looked at both firms and RS transports have offered us a very good price which I have accepted but am just waiting for them to confirm my booking which is taking rather longer than I hoped (I got the quote last night and accepted by email and rang them this morning too). Will let you know how I get on.

Meanwhile, how does this private shuttle thing work? Will we be met in the arrivals hall by a driver with our name up like a taxi? And what about tipping? How much is acceptable?

Hey, whilst writing this the email has come through! :thumbsup2 All booked now, return trip for 2 people for 42 euros each way. That's brilliant as it would have cost us almost that with VEA anyway.

Looking forward to this trip now I don't have to worry about changing trains. :yay: Thank you very much for the info. :flower3:
