We've decided to fly to Disney!! Just bought the tickets. $139 each after taxes and fees.
We have always driven to WDW in the past. Its 500 miles for us, (10 hours with gas and food breaks). We're staying 6 nights. We're on property so we won't need a rental car.
Just a few questions for the peeps who fly.
Have you ever flown to WDW with only carry-ons?
If so, any tips?
Checked bags are $23 each on Delta. Maybe we should check one bag with our sunscreen and full size toiletries.
Any tips for using DME? I know I need to go online and register our flight numbers.

Thanks in advance!

How did you find such a great deal?:cool1: We are trying to decide whether to fly, take Amtrak or drive(which we usually do). We also live about 500 miles away, but it takes us 2 days to drive due to my back issues. We would love to fly if we could find tickets at a great price like you did! :thumbsup2

Delta and Airtran are both running great deals right now. I hope you are able to find a deal, back pain is the worst.

my carry-on and I can fit a week's worth of clothes, extra flip flops, my make up bag (very small) and a 3-1-1 bag in it without busting the seams. With 4 people flying, I think you could easily pack enough travel sized toiletries to get by in your 3-1-1 bags unless you have something very special that you must bring. Even then, you can buy appropriate size travel bottles which you could then fill. I don't use anything so special I can't live without it for a week.

That having been said, I always check 1 bag for the 2 of us. I'm afraid I won't have enough room in my carry-on to bring all the extra stuff I buy (and I always say I'm not buying anything - don't know where all these packages came from!!!)

If anyone wears contact lenses and has to carry solutions, they don't have to fit into the 3-1-1 bag. Be sure to ask a TSA agent how to handle them. I've had some agents tell me to leave them in the carry-on, others have told me to remove them. :confused3 Not sure what the actual policy is, except that they can be carried on! *LOL*

We have done just carry ons but we also stayed in a villa that had a washer/dryer in the room so we didn't need clothes for every day. If you do carry ons make sure you leave room for extras coming back because Delta will make you check a carry on if it looks too big. We got to listen to a woman and her two teen daughters whine the whole trip home last time because they overstuffed their carry ons and had to check them and pay for them. They coulldn't understand why the husband and son could take theirs on the plane since they all had the same carry ons. Well when we saw how much they had expanded and stuffed the three carry ons that were checked, they were actually wider than my large suitcase. When we travel with the kids now we check at least one bag since there are extra shoes that need to go and they take up the majority of the room.

I think we will just check a bag. Just in case our luggage grows, LOL. I'm so excited to get to fly this time. :woohoo: The kids will get back to school earlier too! Thanks for your help!
