Flying SW in April

Because I am going during spring break time, all of the flights I wanted are unavailable. I managed to get a flight into Orlando on a Sunday night, and the flight home on Friday morning.

I know when/if DING fares come up, they'll be scooped up quickly. In the meantime I keep checking my dates hoping for a flight to open the Saturday before or the Saturday after. Has anyone ever been in this situation and actually found a sudden opening? Or am I checking every day for nothing?

I would keep checking. I was planning on flying during April but after seeing the airfares changed to January. Of course, at the time I wasn't able to see what JB or SW had to offer, but I wasn't willing to wait and take the chance they would be high as well. Just as well....I'm seeing high airfares for them as well. It's vacation/spring break time, so the airlines can raise those airfares.
