We booked our flights for Airtran via Travelocity(big mistake). We originally were going to spend night#1 at the Pop, and then transferring the next day to AKL. We were able to get a better rate at AKL, thus staying all nights without having to transfer. The problem is our flight arrives @ 8:59 PM. We called Airtran and they cannot transfer us as we booked through Travelocity. But they did tell us that we can wait for standby at NC, or pay $49 and be confirmed if there is availability when we get to the airport. Anyone have experience flying stand by. As for the charge, I was confused at first, but it works like this. Example A, they have 10 seats available, can wait and wait for standby for NC, gamble that there are still seats for us to fly,or example B, there are 10 seats and we really want to make sure we are on this flight so we pay $49, taking a chance that we could have flown for NC. The time difference we have are arriving at 9:45, 2:10,3:45, 5:47, as opposed to 8:59.
