Flying Southwest for the first time....tips?

We checked in for our flight home at the Epcot Guest Services on the Sunday of the long weekend. We were about 45 minutes past the 24 hour mark and got in the first part of the B group. Of course, we were travelling with a wee one, so got on after the A group anyway.

The CM at guest services was more than happy to do it for us. You don't have to run back to the hotel to do it -- just hit any Guest Services.

Do you print off your boarding passes at guest services as well?? We have never been on Southwest and are new to all this. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. :thumbsup2

Bumping!!! Still need an answer to my question above. :thumbsup2

We haven't used Guest Services to check in online but have done so from our room without a problem. We don't have a printer so we just get them to reprint the boarding passes at the airport when we check our bags. It's not a big deal.

yep! She printed them off for us, we tucked them into our bag, continued on with our night at the park and when we got back to the room, put them with the rest of our docutments for the next day!

Of course, since we were travelling with a lap baby, we still had to see a ticket agent, but we had our boarding numbers at least!

Am I right in thinking that the only reason to see the ticket agent was to show age of your infant (ie. under 2 yrs old)??
I spoke to SW and they said that we can check in on line even with an infant. This makes life easier. Westjet does not allow web check in if you have an infant in lap.

Thanks so much for the info. This will make things much easier than I expected. :goodvibes :goodvibes Now I know we can do it either way, at the airport or guest services.

We're heading to Disney next week, so I'm trying to finalize our plans. We will not have internet access 24hrs prior to our flight. If I ask someone from home to check us in online, would that work? They wouldn't be able to print anything off for us obviously, since we'll already be on the road. Would we just ask someone at the southwest desk to print it off for us? How early do we have to be at the airport by (if my friend checked us in online at the 24hr mark)?

Yes you can have someone at home check you in online. When you get to the checkin desk at the airport you just reprint the boarding pass. It's a self kiosk check in at the airport although there is a person there who checks your ID and gives you the baggage tags.
