Flying out of Toronto and Magical Express

Sorry for hijacking this tread..

But we are flying Air Canada out of Vancouver and then transferring in Toronto before going to Orlando. This will be my first time transferring with in Canada we usually do it out of Dallas or some other US city.

So just so I understand more… everyone who flys from Canada to Canada before heading to the US they have to claim their luggage at the transfer airport and then take them through customs? Is that correct or does it depend on the Air Line..

I thought once you check in at the departing airport that your bags just get transferred themselves and you just want to worry about picking them up at your final destination

Unless things have changed, you will need to pick up your bags at Pearson aiport, go through customs, and there will be a conveyor belt immediately after customs to put your bags back on. It's not hugely complicated, but it is something to be aware of.

ok thanks.. right after i posted i check out the airport website and it basically says the same thing.

good thing to know.. we have a few hours layover so i will not be stressed for time.

Hey Guys....Just my 2 cents worth,

After reading this thread I called my travel agent regarding our WDW trip on Jan. 20th.

As far as he knew (while flying with Air Transat) we were not able to pre-screen out of Winnipeg...weird. Any idea why????:confused3

The main reason for that is they are only at the major airports in Canada. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

If pre-screen means going through customs then last year we pre-screened in Winnipeg. We flew United and went to Orlando via Chicago.
