I purchased air tickets from Louisville, KY to John Wayne Airport today for $284 (stop in Denver, roughly half way) for July - I took the gamble that the prices would not drop below that. We are using our DVC points to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Isn't that a relatively easy drive (compared to the rest of LA)?

We are going to an Angels game, a Dodgers game, maybe try Price is Right, a tour or two, Huntington Beach, so I thought the Anaheim area would be a nice location (we probably won't go to Disneyland, however).

Is John Wayne a relatively easy airport to maneuver?

John Wayne/Orange County (SNA) Airport is relatively a small airport, & easy to get in & out of. It's right at the San Diego (405) and Costa Mesa (55) freeways.

We flew in and out of SNA for our trip in April with no problems, it was great! easy to get to Anaheim and you avoid the whole LAX scene which was worth it.

I was there last week. I had no problems with directions. Watch out for traffic on the freeway, be sure to allow enough time. I left Paradise Pier about 10:30am on Friday, there was alot of local traffic with cars going into the parks. I got out onto I-5, traffic was backed up getting off the exit to 55. I think it ended up being 45 to 60 minutes, vs the 16 minutes stated on mapquest.
