Hello: Has anyone flown into Sanford airport? Your thoughts? Anyone, thoughts on flying from Canada and having to go through, immigration and customs at Sanford airport? Thanks Canadian Tom

VERY small, which has advantages
Over a hour travel time with traffic. On I-4 exit 100, Disney exit 62
Much cheaper flights

Is there much Uber availability for a late arriving flight?

Very small airports have advantages regarding parking, check-in/baggage claim and where applicable, customs since there are fewer people using the airport. The bad news is there are probably fewer airlines who fly out of that airport meaning fewer choice of flight times and/or connections vs non-stop. Make sure you see where the connections go. If you go from Sanford to Orlando (for example) and then onto other destinations, not sure there is any advantage. Very small airports tend to connect through other nearby cities/hubs and tend to have few/if any non-stop flights.

If there is any kind of weather or mechanical delay, could be several days before the next plane is available.

I would imagine the price of renting a car would be cheaper then taking any kind of online taxi or car service. Generally, those are mostly intended for short trips.

Most flights from Canada to the US clear customs/immigration at the originating airport.

Small airport but VERY FAR from WDW property, expect about a 1.5 hour drive (with traffic) from the airport property to WDW property. If you have the option to fly into MCO instead I would always recommend that over Sanford.

I flew into Sanford a few times in the past. I do prefer MCO but the drive wasn't bad and the drive time from MCO to WDW or a hotel is not zero. When the time difference to get to baggage claim, get bags, rent a car and customs for you are figured in, the time difference to get to a destination after landing is a little better than the drive time difference.
